First car show of 2025 with the 850 on Saturday and it was a local (to me) all Volvo show at the Riverside Museum of Transport in Glasgow. There were 2 other 850 estates there so we took the opportunity for a group photo

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
Drove my dad's T5.
240kms and the board computer showed 9.0L/100kms.
Loved every second of it.

P80 interior bulb repairs
I was asked a couple of days ago about what bulbs I use to repair the center console light for the gear shift position. I have done this once, but it is hard to do as the originals are actually spot welded to the body of the bulb holder, the same as the even more stupid expensive ashtray light aroun...

Re: Type and how much brake fluid for pressure flush - P80 and P2
I use the Pentosin DOT 4 from FCP, you know why… You can flush to clean on all four calipers with 1 liter , just barely. It also helps if you Turkey blaster out all the old fluid from up top , too. I always have 2 liters on hand , just in case I’m under pressure. Brakes can bleed you dry, drum roll ...

Re: What are these holes on underside of top of door frame
The Volvo roof rack locks a pin into those to prevent them sliding. Wagons and sedans both have them even if the wagons have roof rails.
Both front and rear door frames have these.
Neil.

Re: Broken retaining clip on CV joint - 1997 850
Got it out. Bent and pried the ring out then pulled it out with some pliers https://i.imgur.com/qgLK7Bah.jpg Then I got the last bit with a slide hammer, the best tool I've ever made. The cheap pick and scribe set was just as good a purchase, without them I wouldn't have gotten the ring pried out en...

Re: How to thread timing belt behind harmonic balancer
Robert never pulls the balancer, and the only time I ever did was because the car came from the junkyard - literally - and the hood had been up long enough it rusted the crank sprocket.
Those belts are pretty tough, they can take a twist or 2.

Re: Pierburg pulsation damper on fuel injector rail Volvo 855 GLT 1997
Fuel pressure damper is made by Pierburg and it is discontinued from Pierburg...and if i remember correctly...discontinued from Volvo too. I replaced mine few years ago with part from junkyard because it was leaking intermitently and had ocassionally fuel smell in the cabin. Here is the part#: IMG_2...

Re: Rack and pinion Seal replacement
Good Sunday all It's gone from very rusty nuts (had to cut one off and will need to rethread bolt), bolts and all things as a result of Canadian conditions (winter, sand, salt) - (some of the videos I've watched on cars of this vintage are quite clean in the South 🙄 Definitely some envy 🙂) Anyway, a...
