Re: '97 855 GLT: is there an easy way to fix a slow leak in AC at this junction?
You need the spring tool. Have it recycled/pumped down. Pop the spring adapter over top, push it towards the left, hold tight while pulling right side out. Will be two o-rings in there. Replace those two o-rings, clean the hell out of it. Keep under a vac for ~20 minute or longer. Recharge to taste.

Re: '97 855 GLT: is there an easy way to fix a slow leak in AC at this junction?
That’s a great clean leak find! Spring adapter is about $10 at your FLAPS I think that is the black one that goes on there, match the hole in the adapter to the pipe size. There might be a plastic retainer in there which you can prise (British spelling) out before the adapter goes in. You will need ...

Re: Driver's Seat Reupholstery/Swap
Southern California (God's Country), Los Angeles (city of The Angeles), Historic Route 66 in Glendora to be specific in establishing "where". March 2019 is "when". Now here is the "what": I have a '96 850 Turbo wagon that I love and know with great intimacy. I am not a ...

P80 -1998 developing coil failure 1275174
I’ve been reworking a 1998 NA and ready for its return home to VT. Last few days, I noticed a slight stumble at idle every 5 minutes or so, maybe a 100-200 rpm drop Today, a badmisfire above 2000 rpm. Luckily, it does it in the driveway without a load. Idle is smooth, but once revs go up to 2000 or ...

Re: 1997 850 GLT transmission p0733 code for incorrect 3rd gear ratio
You could try cleaning the PnP contacts by 'rowing' the shifter from R to D about 20 times. Check the condition of the ATF, if it is not red, then a flush is in order. Or, just replace the PnP. The 'incorrect gear ratio' is bogus. BTW, when the up shift arrow is on and you are driving, shift to L wh...

Re: Generic P80 AC clutch shim , bread clip, zip tie thread
Well, I finally did the zip-tie shim. I only used two ties, as close to 180 degrees apart as possible. Compressor works fine now. My slight concern is that the gap is not quite as even all the way around as I would like. It's about .3mm in places, but a bit over .5mm on about 1/4 the diameter of the...

9454745 Idle control slide, IAC, idle air control valve
Bumping this thread for markone When the Duchess got back home she had a bit of a wonky idle, which we cured by unplugging and replugging in the IAC. My guess is it needs cleaning. You can still get these new but they are pricy , $330, or so Junkyard pull much easier on wallet. Part number 9454745 T...
