Re: Computer Code Explainations
Sirdani, please do not post to a number of threads looking for the same answer. Keep it to one or two. As you can see there were some ECM-711A problems before in this forum. But none of them closed, we do not know the results. All of these topics are very old, and users may not active today. That i...

Re: Programming new key/remote
If you're able to get mail the easiest thing to do would be to buy a replacement key, get it cut (though mail via the link in this thread) and then program it to the car, either using VIDA/Dice or Vdash, etc. In theory you could do all of this without having to drive anywhere, if you get mail. Are y...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?
Over the weekend I manual swapped my 96R and installed a Quaife and an ECU with a good tune.
Good lord, that thing is scary now ...
I'm glad the AW50-42 gave up on me a year ago or I probably would have never swapped it.

Re: Matthew's '98 V70
To me, not at all. You are documenting the deficiencies, and I would be very concerned if the PO did not know about them. The interior does not look all that bad and a good clean should have it pretty nice. Door cards are a challenge. I watched an interesting Wheeler Dealers recently where an uphols...

Re: Programming new key/remote
I bought the replacement key on amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01M3Q16IL/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 had the key blade cut at a local locksmith, and then programmed the chip and key fob by Vdash. It seems like you still have the physical key, just messed up the fo...

Re: 96 R manual swap: the hard way?
Alright, since I opened the topic, I might as well close it. I am done, my 96 R now has a quaifed up M56H 4.0 and 270 hp. It is scary fast and torquey compared to before. If feels 50% more powerful than my 94 T5M. Since a buddy of mine who is a mechanic specializing on race car builds could be convi...

Re: Fix for slow wipers
Did you know 14 years ago when you posted this repair it would be useful in 2023? Doing the repair tonight on my '96 850 GLT. One problem, one of the circlips shot off the shaft into never land behind the work bench. Heading to hardware store tomorrow. Thanks again for the repair write up.

Re: Milgram Ship from Antlers OK to NY
It’s a sad tale but one worth understanding. A big heavy part at point A in space is worth more/less than same part in point B in space. I could find someone remove it I think. Im not sure how to get the crate done. Start with a pallet or two? My thoughts on crating: Try to find a used pallet large...

Re: What OBDII Scanner Should I Get?
FYI. The following two 10-15 USD bluetooth scanners work with my 855 TDI and the mentioned App: https://xiaotec.fi/?lang=en&a=10 https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=xiaotec.fi.obdii The orange one is better quality. Do not buy a dirt cheap scanner. It must have a minimum hardware (NOT ...

Re: and now the water pump leaks 2001 V70 T5 Auto
Go with Aisin pump, it is what Volvo put in these cars. Don't need a locking tool. Use impact wrench on the crankshaft nut. May need to torture it for a minute, but it will eventually come off. Mark t-belt and all sprockets with white paper corrector or oil marker, so you know you put it back in a c...
