XC90 Windshield Wiper Arm Assembly Installation
. The 2012 SUV was purchased with the driver's side arm not moving. It snapped but not sure how that could have happened though I haven't thought to check the hood. Perhaps someone was upset . 1) Removed cowl cover which was pretty straight forward. 2) Needed a wiper arm removal tool as there...

XC90 Rear Hatch Sticking Lever Repair
. Depending on the condition of the rear hatch lever you either unstick it, repair it or replace it. I suppose this could apply to many rear hatch or trunk levers. Since this 2012 XC90 is on probation, meaning not sure if it's a keeper, things will need to be address in order to have the minimal fun...

XC90 Rear Hatch Strut Attachment Point Damage Repair
. The rear hatch of the XC90 is all fiberglass from my research and man IS IT HEAVY! As such the hatch strut pivot bolt is just epoxy into the fiberglass. One side was missing the strut while the other barely hanging on in the hatch. Did some research and found this method, which seemed the most sec...

Reviving A Dead Rechargeable Battery
. Had packed a few tools and parts when my parents moved. I was doing most of the work on our cars in their garage. Though they found a place about 1.5 years later I didn't find the Milwaukee impact till recently about 3 years. Of course the battery was dead and charger rejected the battery. Saw som...

Re: 2000 V40 - blower replacement?
To answer my own question. One must loosen the dashboard to get the fan out, but it doesn't have to come all the way out. It's just to make a little more clearance. It's up behind that lower kick panel just like every other Volvo I've seen. But, in my case, it wasn't a blower problem, per se. It was...

SOLVED: fuel filter
I popped in a new mehle fuel filter in about ten minutes. Started right up, seems to drive well. I’ll report back if anything changes in the next few days.
But it looks like a $25 fix.

Re: V70 seatbelt and seat questions?
When you say "I swapped the drivers side belt with a passenger side belt because it was frayed and I couldn't get any drivers side belts..." do you mean you swapped the fabric belt or the whole assembly? Only the belt. When you unwind the roller, you can access the end of the end of the b...

Re: 1998 v70 t5 Replaced PCV now auto transmission light flashing
Update: spent months trying to get a scanner to work myself. 3 ELM OBDII sensors and a Dice Clone + VIDA and nothing. Volvo dealer quoted $400 AUD just to scan. took it to an independent auto electrician today, they scanned diagnosed and fixed it for $450. it was the throttle position sensor, they s...

Re: 2005 XC90 2.9 ltr awd tr6 high ECM-6140 EXHAUST CAM CONTROL -SLOW
Same code, similar issue for my 2007 xc70. Slightly rough idle and ECM-6140 after doing a timing and PCV job. Spent hours triple checking timing (and confirmed via cam adaption angle in vida), replaced both VVT Solenoids, only to discover an old cracked and corroded pigtail by the connector.
