Re: New Key Fob for 2000 V70R—part discontinued?

There is an Android app called 850 OBDII that is "suppose" to be able to program key fobs. I've been messaging back and forth with the designer of the app and he says it works but wants to make improvements to it. The app is like $3-4 on Playstore. I have the app and have used it but not f...

Re: 850 1995 NON TURBO 170 HP 2,5 L 20 V M56 information

These are the Bearings I used for my 96 R that Inswapped from AT to manual (using a M56 out of a 96 Turbo). They should fit a 20V NA as well.

[SOLVED] Deer slammed side of 07 V50 2.4i. Cranks but no start [SOLVED]

Yes siree... BUT! I have good news: I got the Volvo started up! It appears there is a safety feature on the 2007 V50 2.4i (and possibly other variants), where the fuel pump is disabled after large impacts. Here are the steps I took to get it working, and a potential unknown(?) that may or may not ha...

Re: Source for 940 Overdrive Solenoid? 1993 940 Turbo Wagon

IPDUSA has new aftermarket overdrive solenoids for sale periodically. I just bought one today (9/19/24 - 9 months after your post). It's a hit and miss deal - you have to keep checking back. Two weeks ago, they were out of stock. Today, they had 2. I bought one. I know a lot of folks swear by the co...

Re: What has failed on the PITA V70R this time?? - Update 17th Sept 2024

To be honest, with the expensive exception of the rear subframe failure and rebuild of the whole rear end, the vast majority of the issues are the same as any FWD car. Front suspension and subframe, steering, dashboard and electrics, ABS unit and more. There have been more on the AWD stuff like the ...

Re: What has failed on the PITA V70R this time?? - Update 17th Sept 2024

Unfortunately that is the realities of the larger stuff. I have a 5 speed P80 R auto trans, angle gear and rear diff + axles (front and rear). It is amazing how much space that takes up! Now was it the car's or your knuckles that were stripped, or both?? :D Well, I just took the R for a short run as...

Re: Help with powering S60 seat -- Not in a Car

So, working on the switch today - I had it hooked up to the seat & powered. I figured out that the switch power & ground circuit is activated by the switched power on the secondary connector (B1) . Using a test light, I confirmed the (+) switching action (purple tracer). I tried activating t...

Re: What did you do to your Volvo today?

Put new fuel filter and fixed fuel relay back on 850 > No start, read codes and have one for RPM sensor no signal. (To repeat.. car stalled previously and did run weakly so might been same problem all along) It is being crumpy and asking more attention after 4 months sitting clearly. I will name it...

Re: 850 - interior door panel removal (in pictures)

Reviving an old thread here to add some photos for replacing the door latch grommets in the 850. When these crumble and break, the push rod that connects the interior door latch to the lock mechanism falls out and you will be unable to open the door from the inside. The fix is to remove the lock mec...

Re: Full size spare tire in P2 S60/V70?

Full size 16" tire fits nicely in both my '01 and '02 V70s. It's snug but not difficult to get in and out. Seems to me that the enclosure was designed to accommodate the full size tire since the donut tire has lots of clearance. Note that a longer than standard battery makes it fiddly to get in...
