Re: Lapping (sanding) head down, within spec but still dirty. Keep going?
You are doing it wrong. First off, this is a Swedish car, right? So you MUST use IKEA kitchen table! ;) Also a polished 3/8" or thicker glass on top of it, and let it sit for a few days to relax and straighten. My setup was under 0.05 mm (0.002") flat in the work area. 1.jpg Grit 320 sandp...

Just finished up a comprehensive and lengthy 3 day full detailing of my car, complete with carpet and seat removal and shampooing, console removal and disassembly to remove latent coffee spills over 21 years, and addressing minor other issues like wet passenger floor and reskinning the driver's seat...

Re: Unidentified center console part number
Likely not in production anymore. It's the pen holder.

Re: Monroe 182263 + 64 Mazda 3 Strut for V50 and P1 models?

Tekton T40 socket...
So, I just bought a Tekton T40 socket (6" long), PN SHB14440 . It says 6" long but the usable portion is only 5" long as shown. It is about $6-$10 online (eBay etc.). In a perfect world, remove the 4 bolts on PS Pump and set it aside, but some may not have the serpentine belt Torx too...

Re: 2003 CV axle install.......the easy way!
Our 07 green XC70 seemed to need a driver's side CV axle. My plan was to swap one out of our 07 black XC70 to test but I was unable to get the tester axle out of the black car. This is the first time I have ever been stymied by an axle, P80 or P2. This axle was replaced at some point by the previous...

Re: Sunroof, installation and calibration 2014 XC9 0 redesign
1 Turn the ignition switch to position 1. 2 Operate the sunroof switch to position the sunroof in the tilt position, then release the switch. 3 Press the switch again for at least 5 seconds, so the sunroof closes. The calibration is complete.
This is the procedure for general calibration.

Partial Zero Emissions Vehicle warranty 150K miles / 15 years - ITS REAL!
UPDATE: See 3rd post - Volvo made good, and was also honest to a fault. Just a happy note. I got a check engine light, which VIDA explained as "ECM 2A10 - Center Heated Oxygen Sensor - Signal low" Researching this, I stumbled across this document: https://volvo.custhelp.com/app/answers/det...

Re: C30 Roaring Tires Road Noise
So it was indeed the front wheel bearing hubs that were making all that horrendous noise. Had a good quality suspension/alignment shop positively identify the issue, and order/replace the bearing hubs. I'm rather unhappy with the total parts and labor cost (over a grand), but the car drives normally...
