Re: Brake Booster in-car seal replacement, question for Oragex
Just seen this topic, sorry about the misfortune. As I tried to mention in the video, it is the kind of job that needs some sort of mind control to succeed and good fingers perhaps (I used to play piano  ) Anyhow, I see what happened with the seal and that is precisely the difficult point due ...

Re: Power steering reservoir leaking
I noticed I had a leak with my power steering system somewhere, since the rack has started groaning. I read on here about problems with the reservoir leaking, and also the plastic piece inside that connects to a brass piece coming off of the return line. My plastic piece is still connected, and the...

Re: Dead Instrument Cluster, HVAC and Power Seats
Update: Picked up the car from the dealer and paid the $330-10%. Got in the car and BOOM! All gauges, heater controls, and power seats work. The odometer and clock went all Matrix on me for a minute, but it all works. No reflash or replacement parts installed. Now I am second guessing what to do. R...

Re: Click/tapping felt in 2006 xc70 automatic gear shifter when key turned to position 2
Had lots of intermittent issues with electrics/canbus. My car's now stuck in limp mode and mostly only starting with battery pack. But when it's going wrong one consistent symptom has been a mechanical tapping felt through the automatic gear lever/shifter when I try to start up. The clicking/tappin...

Re: Outer CV Boot Replacement
Was changing out the front brake hoses on my '03 V70 NA Automatic and noticed some small globs of grease on the control arm, tie rod, and around the wheel well (passenger side). I didn't inspect the area thoroughly because of time, but I'm thinking I may have a torn outer CV boot. In anticipation o...

Re: 2001 V70 Anyone know where this sunroof piece goes?
There are two pieces like this, one glued to the front bottom of the sunroof glass and one on the back. In my case they didn't come completely off like yours but one end came unglued and they rattled. To repair you have to carefully remove the top edge of the accordian side covers (pull top edge awa...

Re: 2001 V70 Anyone know where this sunroof piece goes?
Update: I used JB Weld to reattach the metal strip. Clamped it down in multiple places overnight and it seems to be attached very securely now. I reattached the glass using the new screws and washers and they are very securely tightened. My torque wrench doesn't even go down to 5 Nm, so I just tigh...

Re: Radiator recommendations?
I was in the middle of changing the radiator in my 02 XC and got stuck, couldn't get it out of the top OR bottom. I have a donor car that I was going to use the radiator from so I tried to get it out of that one and got stuck at the same place, on the drivers side, either the hitting the condensor ...

Re: 04 s60 lifters
Solid tappets are just shims of different thicknesses to obtain the correct valve clearance and keeping them in order will save some time for the shop if nothing is done with the valve or valve seats but when resurfacing the valves seats or replacing the valves the shop must go through and check the...
