850 T5 Dealer Promotional film

I thought you might enjoy this film. I was looking for the Promotional film for the first R that got me so excited in 94. Cars just got better and better every year up through the early 2000s. Now they just get more gimmicky... Even brands i thought would never give in like RR have. Recently I went ...

Michelin X-IceI3 closeout at Tire Rack

It looks like the Michelin X-Ice I3 tires are being discontinued. Tire Rack has some incredible pricing. I just bought a set of four in 195/60R15 for my Cetus winter wheels for $266, which included tax and a $40 credit for picking them up at their local distribution center.

P80 -1998 developing coil failure 1275174

I’ve been reworking a 1998 NA and ready for its return home to VT. Last few days, I noticed a slight stumble at idle every 5 minutes or so, maybe a 100-200 rpm drop Today, a badmisfire above 2000 rpm. Luckily, it does it in the driveway without a load. Idle is smooth, but once revs go up to 2000 or ...

Re: 1998 V70 LPT pcv replacement 244k miles

Couldn't remember all the details as I have not done this repair personally. However, this is a long thread but most of the info is at the front. 3/8" not 5/8" as per my faulty memory!! https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=53448&hilit=PCV+modification Neil....

Re: Volvo Synthetic oil campaign 2016 - warranty requirement?

I do 5k miles synthetic changes. No way would I do 10k on a turbo car.

Now that US cars have gone down the Turbo path the last 8-10 years those vehicles are also seeing PCV issues due to long drain intervals.

For something so cheap and easy to do, short drain intervals are a no brainer.

B8444S (V8) serp belt tools

Some of you may know me from this site or Swedespeed, I post the same user name. I recently acquired a second V8 XC90 that had 135k miles and I did a refresh of sorts to include the auxiliary belt with tensioner and idlers. There’s also a part in a thread about my snapping off the tensioner bracket ...

Re: 94 850 Turbo Sedan - Runs Rough Until It's Restarted

Here is a follow up for a few things. I finally got around to doing a full PCV system replacement. I did that mainly because I wasn't sure if the previous owner had done it. Upon inspection, the PCV system looked almost brand new so I ended up not replacing much of it. While doing that, I replaced a...

Re: P0442 - Minor Evap leak - ideas? 00 V70R

Are you just getting that one code? I’ve found most scanners don’t map Volvo code text correctly , the best way is to get the Volvo Ecm-xxxx code then look it up in Volvo lit Definitely clear that code and see if it comes back first. Prayers that it isn’t in the rear axle subframe. At least your bol...

Re: P0442 - Minor Evap leak - ideas? 00 V70R

That is very useful. I will be pissed if it is anywhere at the rear as little of the evap system is accessible without dropping the whole rear subframe..................Been there and done that. Never want to do that again! Neil. It seems odd to me that Volvo had so many variations of things like t...

Re: O2 sensor removal tool?

You could try the slotted 7/8 socket with a vise grip type pliers clamped tightly to pinch the gap closed somewhat. It may not allow the socket to slip.
