Fully functioning spark and how TCM interprets throttle angle

Recently I had a CEL for a coil pack. I waited until the CEL remained lit as previously it was flashing under hard throttle. Cylinder 4 was the culprit as found by my $4 ELM327 scanner. I pulled cylinder 4's coil pack and found a severely split boot and a cracked casing. I swapped it out with a used...

Re: What ODB2 Scanner would you recommend for ABS related issues

I just spent some nights researching for a purchase. The Autel AL-519 series does not support ABS and SRS. The Autel AL619 does support ABS and SRS on a wide variety of European cars however according to the Amazon revues there will be substantial amount of updating via a mini SD card from updates o...

Re: Cruise Control Intermittently working-- stumped

I had a CC module lying around so I opened it up. Inside there is a relay with contacts. Clean these with sandpaper preferably 400 grit.

Re: URO Trash Strikes Again

URO assures us that procedures and materials have been markedly improved since PO's date of manufacture. Let's hope so as I've used some of their parts since then. The heavy duty spring seats have been used in our XC90 and I think the little PCV bottle to engine block tube as pictured above as well ...

Re: DiCE - What do you use for 12V power supply

Time to replace the USB cable? Only so many flexes and all cables will fail. Do you have the hard-wired in USB cable or the later mini USB connector on the DICE?

Open the case you might find it has mini USB that has become unplugged.

Re: Just installed a SACER tps. Need help

If you get no voltage to the outer pins 1 & 5 after switching ignition to Pos II then I would worry. Is throttle plate moving and clicking with ignition on? You have about 8 secs to test and within that time you should see throttle flap movement. I've seen afew corroded potentiometer strips whic...

Re: Just installed a SACER tps. Need help

If you hear the click the throttle has power to the flap.

If you ground your meter on one lead to strut top or other ground and try to get a voltage on either pin 2 OR pin 4 that will tell you if the board has the ability to accept the Sacer sensor

Re: Just installed a SACER tps. Need help

No need to test the throttle flap any more; the flap is working. There are 2 different circuits at play on the 5 pin side. 1) Throttle flap power using pins 1 & 5 2) Sensor 1 resistor using pins 2,3 & 4 The 2 circuits work independently of each other. Once pin 2 receives the variable voltage...
