Re: Purchasing an 06 XC70
Being a turbo, the PCV may still be fine, it's better to switch to a good synthetic - keep a very close eye on the oil level for the first days The awd fails on these, perhaps at 100k is still working, usually it fails mechanically at the collar sleeve Other than that the struts may still be good if...

Re: Purchasing an 06 XC70
Wheel bearings are solid on all models but the XC90 - perhaps it used the same bearings, but the weight difference is too much for these As pointed above, less known but rather common is sudden coil springs breaking - not fun when it happens and not cheap to fix for the rear ones which may break mor...

Re: 03 v70 non-turbo catalytic converter
The OEM cat is huge (and heavy). What matters is the overall length of the whole section, from flange to flange and also the flange angle at the manifold. Re: Possibly starter or relay?
If the above does work, also inspect closely the cables at the starter, may also try to smack the starter gently with a hammer while cranking, it might have gotten stuck. But if the car has sat for a while, my thoughts go towards a possible corrupted software - this may happen when these are stored ...

Re: Glove Box Fix
Those tiny tabs always break when you removed them from the metal pin. Try putting a bit of grease on the pin, otherwise this is what I did to make it work forever. Notice in the video the tips about the plastic stops and also how to close back the box and attach the damper. To replace the damper, y...

Re: new brake rotor
I see. Given that most rotors don't need this, I wonder if there have been some issues during the casting process. Not necessarily something to worry, but I'd say it's perhaps one of the few that weren't made 'perfect'. Maybe the melted iron didn't properly fill all areas of the mold. I would rather...
