Another way to disconnect fuel lines at fuel pump
I put these under the fittings and pulled up.
They engaged the retainer rings surprisingly well.
Thanks to the other threads on here that showed the construction of the fittings as it's impossible to see under there.
The fittings are like the push-on plastic fittings sold at hardware stores.

Re: Bulb indicator light - why?
Another set of eyes is always helpful. I'll check the relatively dimmer bulbs. May be insightful to use the DC amp meter and see what is drawn.

Wrapping this topic up So my hose was short and cracked at the end. I cut back to good hose. Then I cut off a couple inches to attach to the canister and I spliced in a hard or plastic tube as an extension. So far so good. Also learned about the valve at the end of this hose and researching on here ...

Re: Speedometer sometimes reads half speed
It is not a 100% foolproof fix. Also it assumes it is not a faulty ABS sensor or reluctor ring that the sensor uses on the axles. There are resistance values for the ABS sensors so worth checking those out. I think Mid-West ABS has a trouble shooting section on what the values should be. Neil. SUPE...
