I'll keep an eye out for all those parts locally. Every now and again I come across B8444S part outs.
This will be a cool project! I'm really excited to see how it goes!

Re: Front Strut replacement recommendations and gotchas?
I had those 1A on 04 V70 and the response on the coils were just plain awful. What I mean, when I hit even a slight dipping type bump, the coil was not strong enough to push the wheel assembly down fast enough so the car would almost feel like it was bottoming out, and it always felt that way on eve...

Re: Volvo Findings! (What have you found on Craigslist?)
Great buy at $160 Pete and it would be in my garage now. This one is gonna take awhile. Was $600 when it started. https://raleigh.craigslist.org/wto/d/wake-forest-4-wheels-volvo-xc90-v8/7118926884.html . Oophta, that’s too dang much. I wouldn’t pay over $160. I noticed they are made by Borbet when ...

Re: "Replacement" Brand V70 Thermostat Assy for $20?
I believe most people here would probably recommend genuine Volvo on this part because of the sensor, but I have had the Facet thermostat assembly (around $80) from FCP in my V70 for about 8 mos. now with no problem, don't think I'd trust this part for $20.Good Luck

Re: Oil seal leaking?
I'll let you know, Pete, if any other envy-greens will make it as far as DIY kit with PCB, maybe even already soldered. Soldering everything together is what kills me. ACK for prototype, NAK for production, even in small batches.

Re: '04 XC Engine Misfiring-Further Updated (Moisture ruled out - possible defective coils, bad MAF)
The 2002 and later that use electric throttle assembly with ZERO processor circuits inside have great reliability but the connector is not durable. I never unplug them unless it is not avoidable. If the engine comes out the throttle gets unbolted and sits somewhere with harness plugged in on it. The...

Re: Prop shaft CV joints
They do come apart. I’d just leave them together though. Clean, blow with compressed air & squirt/pack new grease in there & carry on. New CVJ’s are $75 shipped from Colorado driveshaft & components are extremely high quality, made in Poland and (forgot the other country, but not China....

300,000 Thank Yous
Hello MVS, No need for help today. Just wanted to publicly pass along to Matt and everyone here that makes this site what it is: thank you. I was given this car by my dad who got it new in 2000. It had a fair amount of issues when I got it (parents were tired of the all the random problems) and as a...

Re: 300,000 Thank Yous
It would be so cool to completely renovate it. If I had unlimited money, how cool would it be to drop it off at a place that rebuilds it from the inside out. New electronics, new motor, maybe a 5-speed, new interior/exterior. The works. Wow that would be cool. I often think about this! Honestly, if...
