I am not a fan of RTV. It can cause corrosion from the acetic acid and the crumbly bits that get loose work their way to other areas and cause problems in valves.

I think 0.020 inch may alter the combustion chamber volume a lot. Smaller combustion chamber will increase compression ratio. That may be a concern for long life of the engine.

I suspect you have low battery voltage that has caused a cascade of codes to show. These cars DO NOT like low battery voltage. It messes with the computers. Check your battery terminals for corrosion and tightness. Charge the battery FULLY and try a restart.

Do your light assemblies have actual wires or a printed circuit film conductor? The printed film conductors wear and fail at the main connectors. The spring contacts for the bulbs can get bent out of shape and not contact the bulb well. Can you test for power and ground at the spring contacts in the...
