S70 DIY: Boost Gauge Install - complete guide
Ok, I realize this is not rocket science but there are some tricks and advice I can share and I haven't found a complete guide to step people through this. It is not hard, but takes a bit of patience to do the job cleanly and safely as you are taping into electrical wires and adding new vacuum line....

Re: New How-To: Install Spark Plugs 850/S70/V70/C70
Always use some kind of lube when steel threads into aluminum or you will get galling. Oil is better than nothing but will likely dry up or get burnt off. Invest in anti seize and use on all service bolts and you will save yourself lots of headaches. It works by leaving small pieces of nickel or cop...

Re: Engine oil cooler line replacement DIY guide
Update: I removed the oil lines and both green o-rings were torn and they were brand new! I noticed the 'lead-in' for the o-rings was rough due to some corrosion, i filed it smooth. I think the issue is when the o-rings are getting pushed in, they got torn. Questions: has anybody inserted the green ...

Re: SAS pump resistance
Add the diode, the pump is only used at start up. If you are concerned about emissions, eat less red meat or modify your driving habits. The pump is a piece of shit that constantly fails and goes into the trash stream which is worst for the environment.

Re: P80 Parasitic draw, 150 mA. [ glovebox light ]
Calculations 150mA * 24 hours* 12 volts is 40 watt hours per day. Your battery capacity is roughly 960 watt hours, so one week should have been about a 25% drained battery with no use. Maybe get that battery on a charger for a bit and check alternator output ? I’ve never seen amp watts used, intere...

Re: Parasitic draw
I think it was RSPI who once put his camera inside the glove box to see if light went out. A forum search show several instances of the door not making contact with switch. I did that last year when I noticed the cell voltage would drop after siting but it passed the test. I think the switch is int...

Re: 850 rear flexi-brake hoses. How to replace?
I’m in the same boat, original hose and no desire/will to tackle it. They will probably be seized to hell. Yes you are correct there is a proportioning valve. And yes the hose you see is just a shield. If the inner hose leaks the outer hose should contain the fluid I believe. I’ve replaced my front ...

Re: 850 rear flexi-brake hoses. How to replace?
Maybe it doesn't have the prop valve, however I believe all cars built since the 70s or 80s have a dual circuit master cylinder like this:
