Re: '02 V70 (Timing Belt parts question)
Just do it yourself, lots of info on this forum on how to. I think I posted a thread on the job from last year with pictures. It's a straightforward job without any pitfalls if you follow the instructions. Should take less than 4 hours if you're slow and methodical. Marking the old belt with a white...

Re: What did you do to your P2 Volvo today?
I think you’re just looking for any excuse to post pictures of that beautiful car! How many miles on it? It looks brand new, I’m super jealous.

Just picked up a 2014 T 6 XC60!
Finally found a replacement for the wife’s Subaru Outback in the form of a beautiful XC 60 with 87000 kms, about 50k miles. I can only hope that it is as reliable and trouble free as the Subaru that never broke down or had any problems for 12 years! It’s definitely a nicer vehicle with more creature...

PCV replacement/overhaul 2003 XC70 2.5
I finally got around to replacing my PCV system this weekend. I was going to do a full writeup on the job with pictures and videos but there are countless resources already available on this site and throughout the internet on this job already. Provided are some pictures and guidance on some areas t...

Re: and now the water pump leaks 2001 V70 T5 Auto
Like vti says, get an Aisin pump, Conti belt and replace the pulleys while you're in there. I've attached a post below that shows how to mark the old one before you take it off. It's a simple job that won't take all day. I found it easier to leave the crankshaft pulley on, the new belt slips in behi...

Re: What did you do to your P2 Volvo today?
I would strongly discourage the use of aftermarket parts in these cars, particularly but not limited to electronic components. For some reason, the generic nature of these parts is incompatible with P2 and perhaps other Volvo's. Troubleshooting becomes uncertain when throwing Brand X parts that ofte...

Re: P2 Pre-purchase checklist
If its AWD get it on some snow or wet grass and check to see if it works, this can be an expensive repair and time consuming. Make sure it hasn't had the bevel gear and or propshaft removed, I've seen a few cars where the do this.

Re: 06 XC70 - Replacing RHF axle seal at transmission
Just curious, are you talking about the Volvo dealership or our local Volvo “Indy”? Do you have any pictures of the leak? Don’t be intimidated by removing the angle gear yourself, it’s really not that difficult of a job and will provide a good opportunity to change the fluid and grease the prop shaf...

Re: Scratching on lower control arms.
I would say those marks are from a prybar from someone checking for play in the lower control arms. you cannot get those marks from something rubbing in that spot. I would suggest looking for play in any and all front end components including engine mounts. Those are original Volvo LCA's, how many m...

Re: URGENT wheel bearing bolt gone in middle of nowhere
I cannot tell you its ok to drive like this, the inner CV joint is retained by a circlip so it will not come out of the transmission. If I had to move a vehicle that's missing the bolt on the outside of the CV shaft I would certainly minimize turn radius', particularly at speed. I would probably do ...
