Re: EZ oil drain valve anyone?
Replacing the drain plug in itself doesn't really make a difference on the work load when you still have to get it up on ramps and take the big plastic cover off.

Re: Anal retentive
On these sliding calipers I've gotten away with just pulling the caliper hard towards me. That compresses the Piston enough to remove them easily. No need to pry and risk making marks in the rotor.

Re: XC70 3.2 - Should I Rule It Out
The only real downside I believe is the questionable performance/economy ratio. It used fuel like a T6 but doesn't pack that much more oomph in the heavier P3 than the considerably more economical P2 2.5T (especially if you stick a software tune on the latter). On this end it never sold well for tha...

Re: Who doesn't like Limo ?
If june see this, there will be one in Florida soon. I've seen it! But already knew they existed. Call me morbid, but the hearse version in T6, would be the ultimate Volvo wagon. I've thought the same about the ambulance, it's roomier and there are more of them. Perfect for hauling bicycles around.

Re: Unlock Truck From Back Seat?
I used to be able to pry mine open by hand on my 01. It's a small tab up top then it folds down on top of the arm rest.

Re: 05' V70, almost dead battery, alarm going off, what to do?
Just keep it better charged and it'll be fine.

Re: Oil viscosity and the owners' manual
An oil with a smaller span between cold and warm viscosity is in theory more stable and thus able to resist heat better long term. In practice I suspect it varies quite a lot. I would go for 5w40 regardless of conditions since it's easy to get hold of, covers everything temperature wise and provides...

Re: Oil viscosity and the owners' manual
That is my concern, too with switching to the 15w-40, dm635. We don't get cold that often, but we do have several days a year when we're into the teens and twenties, and those are the days I'd like to take the 960 out. I really do appreciate everyone's feedback on it. -- Simplify a bit and it gets ...

Re: P80 Positive Temp Coefficient Nipple "PTC VALVE" To drill, or not to drill
Volvo put it there for a reason. Don't mess with it other than making sure it works by cleaning it. My two cents. PS that goes for things like cats and other stuff as well. I thought cats cleaned themselves? Hence all the hairballs. It’s definitely good to just leave them where they are. Don'...
