Re: What did you do to your P2 Volvo today....now sticky!!

Replaced Bosch spark plugs with Volvo spark plugs. Also threw on new wire loom and electrical tape on the entire IGN coil harness. The OEM loom was getting brittle and broken off in a few spots. Take note of the IGN coil pigtails. With the coil connectors facing in different directions it's not easy...

Re: Water Pump Leaking

As Herman noted RTV isn't needed for the water pump gasket. When I installed the water pump earlier this year I just put a tab of silicone grease on the gasket to hold it in place. I scrubbed off the OEM gasket using brake cleaner on emery cloth. As mentioned cleaning up the RTV will be a hassle.

Re: Haldex DEM pump O-ring size

You could also buy this O-ring kit for only $4.40

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Haldex-AOC-pre ... 2749.l2649

I installed it on my OEM oil pump and it fit fine.

Re: Anybody running NON-Volvo CV joints on their driveshaft?

The CV joints provided by Colorado Driveshafts are made in Turkey. The rubber boot is thicker than the OEM boots I removed. They cost $75 each. I installed them on my driveshaft last May and have been holding fine for the last 3k miles https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=9&t...

Re: Should I do the water pump while at it ?

Costing less than $100 I installed the Aisin WP when I did the timing belt kit at 123k miles. I'll leave the WP alone when I do the belt kit again at 223k miles.

Re: Long trip prep? ('04 XC)

Under-the-engine front lateral mount, yes. Sway bar bushings = Ipd sway bars! Yes!! And a real skid plate to replace the crappy plastic tray. I have the subframe inserts, for sometime - I was thinking the sway bar job would be a smart time. Don't have the bolts I don't think. Ipd is shipping me the...

Re: Prop shaft CV joints

They do come apart. I’d just leave them together though. Clean, blow with compressed air & squirt/pack new grease in there & carry on. New CVJ’s are $75 shipped from Colorado driveshaft & components are extremely high quality, made in Poland and (forgot the other country, but not China....

I will.
What is the sensor on the intake pipe at the turbo connection, and what is it sensing and reporting?
That is the PTC nipple. It heats the PCV oil to keep it from clogging.
