Re: Differences in n/a 850 Throttlebodies?
So it was epoxy after all, after some poking and prying i managed to get the old throttlebody disassembled. Ended up using the best parts from both throttlebodies and got the new shaved plate installed and man the throttle response was significantly improved. The car doesnt feel any stronger necessa...

Re: Differences in n/a 850 Throttlebodies?
The few throttle bodies I have tinkered with had some sort of hard epoxy dabbed on to the throttle plate screws. I assumed that it was done to prevent the very rare case of one of the screws working loose and being ingested into the engine. When I switched plates I used a little loctight instead. H...

Re: Differences in n/a 850 Throttlebodies?
So I did some peeking around at the intake and found some item numbers in between each inlet being (from top to bottom): 6733, 3531192, 93501. I also found this system between the 2nd and 3rd inlet from the top (looking from the passenger side) which lines up with images of the VVIS system I'm seein...

Re: Differences in n/a 850 Throttlebodies?
Variable Intake I was just reading through that thread, found the link to the N/A tuning 20V, VVIS, something different and saw in the comments that apparently the 93/94 VVIS cars had 4 stud wheels instead of 5. Not sure if thats confirmed or not but I did have 5x108 wheels, I also read that only t...

Re: Differences in n/a 850 Throttlebodies?
Thanks for the replies! Does your '94 have the "Variable Geometry" intake? Ports for that, perhaps? How would i be able to tell if i have the variable geometry intake? Like what are the identifying features. I see the physical differences, but I am struggling to see what the issue is with ...

Differences in n/a 850 Throttlebodies?
Hi all, recently I have been looking at the 960 throttle plate mod for my 1994 n/a 850 to see how the better throttle response feels. However when I first pulled my throttlebody off I unfortunately found that the previous owner had at some point welded the torx screw to the throttle plate itself so ...

Re: 1994 Volvo 850 N/A Issues with Short Ram Intake
Thanks scot! Just ordered a crimp clamp for the pcv hose and I look forward to getting that taken care of. Unfortunately had to replace the radiator recently so some things have been pushed back slightly but I'm trying to get this as close to stock performance as possible. Once I have gotten it as n...

Re: 1994 Volvo 850 N/A Issues with Short Ram Intake
So I found the issue, forgot to update the thread with the fix. It was just the positive terminal on the battery wasnt tightened down enough and that small red wire on the bolt wasnt under pressure. Fixed and the car sounds and runs great now. Looking into coilovers and breaks next cus its not like ...

Re: 1994 Volvo 850 N/A Issues with Short Ram Intake
Small update, was working on the car testing it with the stock airbox/piping and it wasn't turning over with either the stock airbox or the short ram intake. I did notice however that the fuel pump was not making the whine that it was supposed to so maybe the pump needs replacing. One other thing I ...

Re: 1994 Volvo 850 N/A Issues with Short Ram Intake
So I'll have to pick up a pressure reader/make one, couldn't find one laying around anywhere. However I did get a video of the issue it is currently facing, If anybody has any idea of what this is please let me know. https://youtu.be/nPNGMZi_wqA Going to get that fuel line pressure tested soon to ma...
