06 S60 Adding additional key

I was thinking to get an aftermarket alarm installed which would require a second key if going the remote start route.

I got some spare keys to repurpose the transponder from. anyone able to guide on unlocking/reusing old keys?

Thanks in advance.

Job is do-able, make sure you change all components as needed. Water pump, tensioner, idler, belt. You'll need the cam holder tool.

I wouldn't go past 75k/ 10yrs on a belt. Already replaced a block

Re: Has anyone uses 303 protectant on their car rubber parts?

The product works alright when used in a dry area. Since it's water based I haven't noticed it to hold up for after water/rain touches it. You're likely better off using some grease or just keeping things clean.

report on your results though in the next couple weeks...

Re: Vida CEM swapping

Hey all, I'm attempting to connect CEM and ECU on bench.. using a basic harness following Volvo wiring diagrams.. there's only 2 lines between the two. VlDA shows CEM online but no ECU. Do the additional CAN low/high lines coming from ECU need to be terminated with a resistor? Edit: Re-added resisto...

Re: Vida CEM swapping

The remote fob is stored in the UEM, you need a new fob with codes on package or a used UEM from same MY with used fobs. The transponders are stored in CEM. I have information that some people do not use someone else's mirror at all to transfer the date of key fobs from it ... . They only need some...

Re: Transmission advice please - tc80

If the fluid is original you may have a bigger problem after changing to fresh oil as you wash away the metallics that kept it thick and running. You can attempt a drain and fill until you have clear fluid, reset adaptation through vida. Drain -> fill start car cycle through gears P,R,N,1,2,3 repeat...

Re: Vida CEM swapping

It seems my repaired alarm siren is again leaking and again draining the main battery. I want to throw it away, the car is never locked anyways. Don't what to see the immobilizer warning message on every start, though. What are my options? Is it a bit toggle in CEM's car config? I may have finally ...
