Heater core would mean wet driver's footwell, but the foam is so thick and porous it would take months to notice. Might be worth removing the carpet completely and inspecting. When was the last time the water pump was changed?

I'd recommend you take off the timing belt plastic cover and look for coolant residue around the water pump and on the plastic cover.

I had a small crack at the coolant tank where the lower hose attaches. Would only leak under pressure. Cheap and easy replacement

Coolant leak on a Volvo V70 2.4 turbo. Every 20 to 2hours of driving I need a cup or two of coolant. After turning the car off and waiting 15 or so minuites the overflow tank still has pressure.
