1998 S70 Turbo T5 - P0133 code

Car just threw this code and I assume it is the O2 sensor as all rubber lines were replaced about 6,000 miles ago by PO. Car runs fine, not sure of MPG as it is my sons car. Any trick to accessing the sensor connectors? One is completely covered by the airbox tube while the other is partially obscur...

Re: Parking brake issue - S70 T5M

No, since I didn't have another new cable on hand. Going to drive it a little and see how it works over the next couple of weeks. Most likely will just end up replacing the passenger side cable as well and have an extra set of shoes in case needed. Trying to save the $80 for the cable, lol. Good new...

Re: Parking brake issue - S70 T5M

Well, I replaced the drivers side cable today and it was in need of replacement, it was very stiff, not smooth movement at all like the new cable. Had to hammer on the end at the wheel to get it out. No way the shop replaced it before, so the previous owner was just ripped off. The brakes now work t...

Re: Parking brake issue - S70 T5M

Status update: Pulled the rear seat and found one broken connector on the drivers side, zip tied it back in place for now. There were two connectors on the floor on the drivers side but only one on the passenger side and it didn't look like there were ever two on that side, does that sound correct? ...

Re: Parking brake issue - S70 T5M

After reviewing the video above and the fact that the shop that installed the new cables left off the plastic clamps securing the cable to the trailing arms I am guessing they also didn't secure the cable to the cabin floor so that it is just moving around too much to activate the brake.

Re: Parking brake issue - S70 T5M

There should be a small hole on either trailing arm where an aluminum rivet fits to hold a cheap plastic loop that holds the cable to the trailing arm. Yeah, the plastic loop/clamp thing is what was missing hence the need for the zip ties. I have ordered the volvo retainer and will punch the rivet ...

Re: Parking brake issue - S70 T5M

On a 1998, you adjust at the wheels first to lock, back off 2-3 clicks, then adjust the handle. The zip tie on the cable wont affect e-brake function This is what I did. Had to add the zip tie to keep from pulling cable towards the tires as I adjusted at the rotor. Is the expander what you are call...

Parking brake issue - S70 T5M

https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1998-volvo-s70-2/ Bought this car off BAT, it will be my sons first car. I flew down to LA and drove it back to Seattle in two days. Car runs well and was as described in listing. I have replaced the ABS module and the last thing we need to fix is the emergency brak...

Re: BaT Megathread

'98 S70 T5M, 119k shown, no reserve seems to be the way to avoid a long lead time on getting a Volvo listed. Bid up to $4500 with 9 hours to go I call hammer at $6900 $5k, probably a good buy. I didn't bother reading any more comments. I am the buyer of this car! It will be my sons first car. I fle...
