Re: Soft Click Sound Accelerating Through 10mph [V70 T5]
I had a click from the outer cv axle, it had failed and had a click sound, something was shifting inside the ball bearings or tripod. As we moved the car forward, while in Park, the driveshaft had a click and shifted backwards. Interesting, so I should put the car in park and attempt to push it for...

Re: Soft Click Sound Accelerating Through 10mph [V70 T5]
Does it only do it once when taking off for the first time after engine start? It seems that I recall something about a “click” sound in the ABS when you first take off that is perfectly normal. But memory doesn’t always serve me well. It seems almost guaranteed to do it on the first time after eng...

Soft Click Sound Accelerating Through 10mph [V70 T5]
I have the infamous 2001 automatic AW55-50 transmission with 256k miles. I've noticed a slight click sound when in a gentle acceleration, say in a parking lot, when passing through about 10mph. It doesn't seem harmful and I feel nothing, but was wondering if anyone has had the same issue and what th...

Re: 2001 V70 T5 - Slipping AW55 Solutions?
Here’s the 2005 wiring of the 4 pin speed sensor , maybe research what those designations are for help in rewiring? Thanks Abscate, I was able to pull the entire lead with both sensors from a junked car, and since both sensors worked no splicing/crimping was required. Simple plug and play. (The wir...

Re: 2001 V70 T5 - Slipping AW55 Solutions?
Alright JLenny, I successfully installed the sensors that I pulled from the junkyard. (I had pulled the entire lead including both the input and output sensor and plug-in). Once installed, I tested it a little bit by driving city streets, and then stopped to clear the codes using VIDA. After clearin...

Re: 2001 V70 T5 - Slipping AW55 Solutions?
Alright, I went to the local junkyard and grabbed the complete assembly (both sensors & wire lead). I'll install later this week and post results here. I'm still debating, but likely will replace complete assembly instead of splicing. If a sensor is bad off of the junkyard part then I'll splice ...

Re: 2001 V70 T5 - Slipping AW55 Solutions?
I am picking up more knowledge on the fly here as I sleuth around. But it appears I will need the entire harness, plus the two sensors so they interface correctly. FCP claims this will not fit my vehicle, but I'm looking at this one: https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/volvo-at-speed-sensor-harness-c70...

Re: 2001 V70 T5 - Slipping AW55 Solutions?
Hi JLenny, I braved the rain and pulled the output sensor off last night. It turns out the one I bought from IPD (volvo OEM) is slightly different than the one in the car. The one I bought from IPD has a female plug end where the lead wire should connect to the sensor. The one I pulled from the car ...

Re: 2001 V70 T5 - Slipping AW55 Solutions?
I appreciate the quick reply. The rainstorms just hit here in Western Washington, so it may be a few days before I get to replacing the sensor, but I will keep you posted on here as to how it goes. One thing to note: I purchased the transmission speed sensor (sensor only) from IPD, rather than the s...

Re: 2001 V70 T5 - Slipping AW55 Solutions?
Hi JLenny, I have a 2001 V70 T5 as well with identical codes. I also did a transmission fluid drain/fill using 12qts of Toyota Type IV fluid. I have not had any issues due to the fluid change, but I did clear the transmission error codes using VIDA after doing the fluid, and it was slipping like cra...
