Some dimensions would be nice, as I'm about to do this job.
Thanks Jerry

FOR SALE 2001 V70 T5 Excellent mechanics Vacaville CA $4000
Very well maintained at 205K miles (one owner). All service is current with recent serp belt and tensioner, timing belt with all parts replaced along with scheduled PM on the water pump. XmodeX throttle position sensor added 25K ago even though original still worked. New battery in August (I replace...

Re: ETM replacement and LESSONS LEARNED
After I had gotten mine all together, I noticed I'd forgotten to replace the outer tube that cover the smaller tube. Not sure of its purpose, but if I was to guess to help keep things at temperature so it doesn't condense out and plug the small openings. I was able to pull out the small tube at the ...

Re: What octane to use?
What octane is needed depends a lot on how the car is driven. Drive with a heavy foot or a trailer, then I'd recommend the higher octane. Drive like there is an egg between your foot and the pedal and not much load (trailer or mountains) and 87 octane works best. I've been driving 87 exclusively EXC...

ETM replacement and LESSONS LEARNED
For me the most difficult part of this job was releasing the plastic intake from the ETM and refitting the banjo bolt at the manifold. I did things a little different than instructions I had read. I unbolted the ETM from the manifold and left it attached to the tubing when disassembling. Getting to ...

Re: Oil Leak
I just finished the ETM replacement today. While I had thought I had found the source of the leak being the dip stick tube seal, now I'm convinced I was wrong. During the time I was waiting for parts, I did a pretty through clean up of the existing oil. I went away for a day, and noted the oil reapp...

Re: Drive belt tensioner replacement - 02 V70 2.4T
If it is making noise (I.E. the bearing), there is an option to just replace the pulley and leave the tensioner in place. If it is the 14 mm hex style, you can just unscrew the bolt and then pull the old off and on with the new. Tightening this bolt can be a pain, as the spring tensioner moves. I'd ...

Re: Oil Leak
I just finished pulling the intake manifold to do a through search for the leak. I am also replacing the ETM with a Modex design so I was going in there anyhow. The result: Drum roll please: It was the o-ring to the dip stick tube at the engine block. The oil would mostly run down the oil pan to eng...

Re: Scored Serpentine tensioner pulley
oragex, I did the alternator pulley test this morning and everything looks good and felt real smooth. I used a Popsicle stick to jam the alternator in the back.

Re: Oil Leak
Quick update: I did the latex glove on the oil filler hole and it is pulling a vacuum at idle and 2K RPM.
Is it possible one of the banjo connectors is plugged even though my system passes the dip stick and oil fill hole tests?
