Re: 2006 S60 Thermostat Replacement - Is housing replacement

You must install the whole unit.
I did order the Behr thermostat from NAPA, it was very different from the one in the housing.
I ordered the parts as pictured.
Very disappointed that Volvo made this such an expensive chore on the 2.5T
My car is an '05 XC70.

Re: 2004 v70 Rear wiper 'freezing'

The harness through the hinges easily could be the problem. My rear wiper quit working last week, I found the problem to be broken wires at the left hinge (4 wires broken).
For quick diagnosis you could try squirting WD-40 around the shaft to see if corrosion and binding up is the problem.

Re: Rear wiper Problems

When my rear wiper quit working, I assumed that the shaft had frozen up due to the mag-chloride put on the roads here in Colorado. When I checked the wires at the motor for current; the yellow wire was hot, but the white wire was not energizing when the switch was turned either to intermittent or fu...

Re: power bleeding '05 XC70 AWD

What a great product!!! That was the easiest bleed and flush of a brake system that I could imagine. As was suggested here, I used it just to pressurize the master cylinder, and added fluid as necessary when the level dropped. Got a lot more garbage out than I would have expected; the best part is t...

power bleeding '05 XC70 AWD

My brakes are spongy feeling, and with 65,000 miles on the car I'm going to flush and bleed the brake system. In the past I have simply bled the brakes the old fashioned way. After reading the posts on this site I have purchased a power motive bleeder. I have not seen in the various posts I've read ...

Re: XC-70 2005 rear wheel drive not engaging

Dave- Please share what your dealer indicates as the problem. My XC70 is a dog on snow and ice conditions that are no problem for a Subaru… Your problem sounds similar to my experience and would like to know what your outcome is? Cheers, Erik Erik; You did not mention what you are running for tires...

Re: XC-70 2005 rear wheel drive not engaging

My vehicle was repaired at Rickenbaugh volvo in Denver. It turns out that the temp/pressure sensor was defective. They replaced the sensor, and reloaded/updated the software. Voila!! I have AWD again...  The good news: they did it for no charge even though I am out of warranty. :D The bad...

Re: Definately get the Motive Power Bleeder + a nice trick

Here is a trick, rather than putting the brake fluid into the Motive bleeder as they suggest (messy), just use the Motive as air pressure. First, get the reservoir low by running the old fluid through one of the calipers. Followed by filling the reservoir with fresh fluid. Connect the Motive, apply ...

Re: XC-70 2005 rear wheel drive not engaging

Sorry.
"mil": malfunction indicator lamp.
I am surprised that since there are mil's for virtually everything else that could go wrong in these cars, that there isn't one for such an important feature.
