Re: 2001S80T6 camshaft reinstallation
Hi thanks for the comments. I am just now getting to the point where I am reassembling. I had to wait on some parts. I have installed the cams and the cam cover, borrowed an alignment tool from a co-worker. I am going to remove the tool and check to see if I aligned them correctly before moving to t...

New Problem on 2001 S80 T6
Hi, I have a 2001 S80 T6 with 439,000 miles. Replaced original engine at 367k. Issue I have is with the UEM. When I savaged the donor engine, I also grabbed the rear view mirror dimmed with lever. My Auto dimmed mirror started looking like a lava lamp, so I decided to remove the auto dimmed one and ...

Re: 2001 S80 motor transplant - subsequent oil leaks
I did the 2 tests Robert talks about. Remove oil dipstick and look for smoke - none. rubber glove over the oil fill. While the glove inflated some, it mostly pulsed and fingers never did inflate. I have replaced the cam seals and found the intake cam seal just kinda hanging there. Have not run the c...

2001 S80 motor transplant - subsequent oil leaks
Hi I own a 2001 S80 turbo with 361,000 miles. A long story short, a rod failed and came out the font and back of block. After a lot of thought about what to do, we decided we would try to find a donor engine and swap it. Found a T6 engine in a 2000 S80 with 82,500 miles showing on odometer. Swapped ...

Re: 2001 S80 Trunk Lid Bouncey Bouncey
Ok, so the part I got off the 2004 has a different bracket on it, AND some internal parts were broken. By scavenging the bracket and good internal parts off of the original latch and using some of the parts off the replacement latch we were able to make a good latch that works.................

Re: 2001 S80 Trunk Lid Bouncey Bouncey
Further Investigation reveals the bracket on the 2004 latch provides a different angle on the latch tab. it actually misses the catch receptacle. Looks like I will have to transfer the new switch parts to the old bracket to make it work.
