Re: 2005 NA M56 alternator removal
Thank you for including the tools used in your report.
I had an odd experience removing the alternator in my 2007.
The freewheel pulley would "growl-to-a-halt" upon shutdown. Because the bearing(s) went on my 2002's at the same mileage, 151k, I decided to have my 2007's completely rebuilt.

Re: Adding a rear swaybar in a P2 (2007)
The base models didn't have them, and I've already fetched one from a yard.
I know about the offerings from IPD and FCP. I wanted to keep the costs down.
I just want to know if anyone here has ever done this refit.

Adding a rear swaybar in a P2 (2007)
My 2007 V70 base has no rear sway bar.
Mounting holes for the links and for the sway bar's clamping hardware are there.
I intend to use a sway bar from a junkyard.
Has anyone done this?
A search yielded nothing.

Re: P3 XC70 battery cover mislabeled
51 days have passed since the above post.
The "battery under this" symbol on my 2015 P3 battery cover has no "+ or -" signs.
I have the cover for the H7 size battery (pn 31383949).
Also, my cover features no blisters as seen in the photo above. It is entirely smooth atop.

My experience is positive over several small orders.
This could be where you got your 30761742.

This one does mention the plastic tank. Call them as they're helpful.

Aug. 16th...first I've seen this thread.
Good for you helping your friend.
What I think happens is the the elbow on the vacuum supply hose -the one on the intake manifold- breaks and leaves the hose flopping about.

Re: Looking at 2015 XC70 T6, help wanted
Had the 5-cylinder been resurrected for the 2015 year?
A post cited the 6-cylinder engines added 400 pounds to the car.
Perhaps that included the AWD hardware?
Watching a "Rebuild a READ Unit" video reinforced my desire to never own one.
