On the PnP switch there is a Green/Red and a Green wire. Place a jumper across the two wires. If the car will crank with the jumper in place your problem is with the PnP switch. If it still will not crank, the problem is elsewhere. Keep your foot on the brake as you turn the key, the jumper defeats...

It certainly sounds like PnP or shifter adjustment! Search the Volvo repair database for procedures on that, they are on there Ok thank you I will look for that. So the reverse lights come on when shifting into reverse, but the car rolls as if in neutral if any gear is selected except park.
When in park it doesn't move.

Checked for fault codes and there are none stored.
Tried locking/unlocking driver door 5 times but still won't crank.
