2001 Volvo S60 for $3,900

Newer car forces sale of my 2001 S60. 79,500 miles, 2 owner car. No accidents. The car is gold with an Oak Interior. I have owned the car for 5 years (at 62,00 mi.). The car has an auto-stick trans. and sunroof. The timing belt and water pump were replaced 25,000 miles ago. The entire cooling system...

Re: 85 244GL what are the main parasitic battery drains?

Check for the glovebox light. The shut off switch may become malpositioned so the little door doesn't activate it. Secondly, always replace the B cable between the battery and the starter. I replaced my battery and alternator before resolving a failing battery problem by replacing the B cable.

Re: Coolant leak around heater hoses in firewall

G, Go to your auto store and get a radiator stop-leak product that looks like large tablets. I think the manufacturer is Barsdahl. Follow the instructions and you problem will be solved. I had the same problem with my son's '97 850. My brother is a professional mechanic. These tablets were recommend...

Re: Transmission service required

Gerry, Your problem is probably solved by now. You can get a B4 servo at IPD (Oregon) for about $30 US. If this car has never had a flush, then it is way overdue. You will be amazed at the improvement. I don't know if it will solve all of the problems. My 2002 XC70 (80,000 mi.) has had a flush, a B4...

Re: Suspension Total Replacement - What and how much?

If you really want to improve stability, put some heavy sway bars and a strut tower brace on it. I did (IPD) and it really improved handling on curves.

Re: Metallic Scraping Noise at 2500 RPM Only After Startup

I have a similar noise after I back out of the driveway and go forward about 40 feet. It lasts about half a second. It only does this on morning start up, reverse and forward movement. This has been happening for years (2002 XC70). I have had transmission fluid changes, updated the trans servo (IPD)...

I am interested in the cruise control setup for the 850. Do you still have it?

Did you ever sell your relay? If not, what is the part number? I have a 97 850 GLT. Thanks

Re: 2000 V70 T5 Trans fluid

I have a 2002 V70 XC(P2 like yours) . It had some slipping and hesitation when shifting to Drive from Park or Reverse. I bought the $20 flush kit IPD (plastic hoses and connectors) which connects on the driver's side of the radiator. I used 15 quarts of 3309 to completely flush the trans. The "...
