Hello all. I have 1996 850 GLT, is there any reason for this models to not have the air pump? if 1996 models are without air pump then what's the reason? Lubricating a worn bearing or bushing will not solve your noisy blower problem because of its age it might remain quiet for some time but not for long, my recomendation is replace the blower and save your time I did lubricate not my Volvo's fan but several other like fans with no long lasting result.

Prevent possible permanent damages to sensitive electronic parts install in the car like ECM, ABS and so... Disconnect battery cable and then do the welding, I have more than 40 years of experience of reparing electronic stuff and I know welding the car body might send a shock to that sensitive part...
