Looking to buy a 2005 V50-T5 AWD, good car? What to look for?
We are looking at a fully loaded (except navigation) 2005 Volvo V50 T5 with 87K miles. I took it out for a drive, it drove exactly like a volvo should, everything was good, smooth and quiet. It did have a small squeek coming from the rear when going around turns. All 4 tires were pretty low on life,...

Re: Spare Tire for S60
We just picked up our S60 T5 over the weekend, luckily we picked up from online reviews that this car does not include a spare tire so we called the dealer immediately and told them that we would not be coming if they did not include the spare tire kit for free...which they did, its actually nice lo...

New Volvo S60 impressions/reviews
We are looking to take a step up from our old 2003 Toyota Camry and purchase a 2012 Volvo S60 T5. Overall from what I have read, people love the car, have a lot of good things to say. But I'd like to hear from someone first hand their true experiences with the car, specifically reliability. The car ...

Re: YIKES! Saab owners need your regrets.
I drove 2 different volvo's before I ended up switching to Saab, not exactly because I wanted it. I had a 2000 S70 GLT/SE, awesome car, and after it saved my life in a crash, I decided for another one, this time a 2000 V70 XC AWD/SE. That car was just a nightmare in repairs, every couple weeks, some...

Thinking of Buying a 2000 V-40, what should I look out for?
We need another car in the family, and it will only be a volvo: My neighbor down the street buys them from people (not auctions), repairs them, then sells them, I've gotten a car from him before. Here is what he has/im looking at: 2000 V40 1.9T with 158K miles. The following has just been repaired: ...

Re: High reb when started?
Thats normal. I had that with my S70 turbo and my V70 XC, and my Saab 9-3 is doing the same. Its because on a cold engine/in cold weather, oil becomes thicker and the engine needs to get it goingthrough if you get what I mean. Not a very technological answer but once the engine is lubricated and war...

Re: Buying a used RWD volvo, which one should I go for?
Thanks for the info. Of the 7 and 9 series, which one would you consider the best buy. Was the PRV V6 in the 760's a good engine? Also in my experience, the late 90's/early 2000's turbochargers were not among the best, and had bad seals, causing them to leak/break. What were the turbo's like for the...

Re: Buying a used RWD volvo, which one should I go for?
Which year XC did you own? Up to '98 they don't seem to have many major mechanical flaws however '99 to '03 have the infamous ETM (electronic throttle management) provided by Magnetti Marelli. I owned a 2000 V70 XC AWD/SE. I bought it with 92K mile and by 100K miles, it had the following problems: ...

Buying a used RWD volvo, which one should I go for?
I've owned and driven a couple different volvos in the past so I know about these cars. I am looking to spend $2-3K on a used RWD (more reliable) volvo, had a couple cars in mind, not sure which one I should settle on. I owned an S70 GLT/SE and then a V70 XC AWD/SE. Loved how they drove but the XC w...

Re: Cam sensor on V70 Xc SE 2000
you mean the camshaft position sensor? Take off the plastic engine cover. You will see it right there. It's very easy to change/remove. All you do is use a torx wrench to remove the 4 bolts. remove the wire going to it, and take it off. Oil may drip off, so have a towel handy to keep things clean. P...
