C@lvin, if the fuse 5 controls the CC and OBD system, that means the OBD plug won't connect to any reader, correct?
I am having this same problem, just started suddenly (bananas?) today. Not happy. it's all four H's here: Hazy Hot Humid and Holycrapitsfreakinhotout!

Re: V70 Front brake weirdness
Ok so I did an oil change and pulled the wheels off. The rotors and pads were all brand new (replaced in February). They used crappy semi metallic pads, and that is what was causing this grinding sound when hot. I went to napa and got their ceramic pads for $45, and swapped them on. Very easy job, t...

Re: replacing brake pads
I just did the front brakes on my 98 V70. The rotors and pads were replaced in February, but they used inferior semi-metallic pads. DO NOT USE THOSE. Napa had Ceramic pads for $45, it took me literally 1/2 hour to swap the new pads in. That includes a smoke break and eating pizza in between wheels.

What size front brakes? 98 V70
I need to get new pads/rotors, but there are a few different sizes listed for the 98 V70. It's a non turbo automatic trans. What size rotors/pads do I have to get?

Re: What type of fuel are you using?
So I did the seafoam, then an oil change. I will report back what kinda mileage I am getting as well. I run 89 octane all the time now... When I did the seafoam, the smoke that came out was bad enough to render the street undriveable for at least 10 minutes: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v88/Eur...

Re: What type of fuel are you using?
Those don't look terribly bad, you've still got a healthy engine! :) As far as the sludge buildup, many people reccomend Seafoam for a total engine cleaning. 1/3 of a can in the gas tank, 1/3 in the oil, and 1/3 sucked into the intake manifold. Then change the oil within 200 miles or a few days of ...

Re: What type of fuel are you using?
I don't have the trip computer, I am going by the old fill gas, run down, refill, calculate mileage. I just changed the spark plugs and found what I would imagine are either original, or old replacement stock plugs. Here is a picture of them, as removed from the motor left to right: IMG_2895.jpg The...

Re: What type of fuel are you using?
Stage 0, tire pressure, dragging brakes, AC, uphill/city driving? So far, I am halfway through stage 0. New cap, rotor, wires. Plugs are going in today. I need to change the oil, but I doubt old oil will cause bad fuel economy, to an extent. Not much AC use, mainly city driving. I don't think the b...

Re: What type of fuel are you using?
Jeez, you guys are getting some good numbers with your cars. What am I doing wrong?
98 V70 with 166k on it, non turbo, auto trans.
I get 20mpg all around, no matter what octane I run.
