If you had no spark, and "assume" the fuel injection part is functioning... the easiest way is to check for ignition pulse.

Do this with a test light: clamp your test light to ground. With the key on, your test light should be bright when it touches the ...

That is a good question.

Your radiator fan relay is a two stage (speed) relay. It constantly has a 12v feed. As soon the ECU provides low or high speed ground signal to it, it will energize the fan accordingly. The ECU uses various sensors to energize the relay.

Now with your problem: Fan ...

There is a cam position sensor and an RPM sensor. The RPM sensor provides engine speed and cylinder #1 top dead center information to the ECU. A defective RPM sensor will disable both fuel injection and ignition.

If you have fuel pressure AND injectors pulse at the rail ... but no spark ... then ...

You could have a bad rad. fan relay which mounts directly on top of the fan by shroud.

Make sure the steering stop plates are not damaged. Otherwise, lube them again. Use any type of grease.

Year 98 will cost less. 99 and new will cost more. Prices vary from dealers to dealers. If you are going to get it fixed at the dealer, then just call them for prices.

On 960 92-95, you can manually retrieve trouble codes from your transmission control unit at Diagnostic Socket A-1. If you get a code 3-1-3, you need to replace the Gear Selector Switch ... which is very commonly go bad.

If you're not getting fuel .. you need to check for spark. During cranking, the ECU will not energize the fuel pump relay UNLESS it receives ignition pulse signal from ignition control unit. NO ignition pulse could poss. be engine speed sensor.
