Re: Which valve? ..."major leak" code

Hi Andrew, 'Didn't realize you worked for a parts supplier so checked your database... I can't find it on your website for my car. 'Can't get your website to accept Volvo and S80 turbo, and "valve" in the search box. "Purge valve" in search doesn't produce the right year/car. Doe...

Re: Which valve? ..."major leak" code

Yes, thank you Andrew. According to OEMParts database, it is the "valve" rather than the "shut-off valve."
Thanks much.

Which valve? ..."major leak" code

Hello, My '99 S80 had ECM-4308 "major leak" code which tech says is an evaporative valve in the emission system that needs to be replaced because it sticks open/closed. Data bases list "valve" and "shut-off valve" in the emission area; my question is, which one is it? O...

Re: '99 S80 Brake Control Module part+labor = $1k

Matty Moo and everyone, Xemodex confirmed that they do NOT repair DSTC units. BBa doesn't list on their website whether they do or not, must look up by VIN number only on line or over the phone. So that's at best one place, possibly, in two countries, that may repair/rebuild Volvo ABS units with DST...

Re: '99 S80 Brake Control Module part+labor = $1k

I talked to 2 places, at least, I believe it was Victor something and I'm not sure who else. I found the info on this site, so it could have been you as well. It's been awhile since I did the search--as I recall now, they cannot repair/rebuild a '99 s80 t6 module if the car has DSTC. I should have b...

Re: '99 S80 Brake Control Module part+labor = $1k

Summergirl, Save your time: the ABS control module on a 1999 S80 T6 is non-repairable/rebuildable. If it really is defective, replacement is the only option. You said that you do research, so make sure they know what car you have, if anyone is telling you that it can be repaired/rebuilt. Second: sav...

"Elec Power System Service Required"--anyone get this? help?

Hello Everyone, Get this message mostly on start-up, after the ABS module and the CEM have been replaced. Got plenty of messages before, started with "Brake failure" message recounted in other topics. Battery is 1 yr. old. Alternator has been checked multiple times, supposedly, by several ...

Volvo dealer or not--Best way to trade/sell an S80?

Hi, Does anyone know if trading in a Volvo at a Volvo dealer (if you buy a non-Volvo, new or used off their lot) means you are more likely to get more for your trade in than trading at a non-Volvo dealer? Any other thoughts on how to get the most $$$ out of a 1999 S80 T6 with 85,000 miles? (Yes, it'...

Re: '99 S80 Brake Control Module part+labor = $1k

Hi Matt, Can you post any more info there is on the original problems, particularly any messages on the dash that came up, and what error codes the car was giving when it was on the Volvo troubleshooting system? It could help a lot to finding out if others (including me) have the same problem. Thank...
