Re: 2001 xc-70 are they all lemons?

My 2001 V70XC has only 118,000 miles on it. I've done a lot to it in the last year, after it sat for nearly a year and a half. It's now an XC "T5" with the T16 turbo, R blue injectors, silicone tubing and intake pipe, resonator delete, and loads of suspension mods. The original owners were...

(2001 V70XC) Replace HU-803 with DIN digital bluetooth unit?

My HU-803 works perfectly. I already have a Parrot bluetooth phone adapter on it, courtesy of the previous owner. But, the Parrot doesn't do music streaming, only phone. I am looking at swapping out the HU-803 and installing something like these: Kenwood KMM-BT308U http://www.crutchfield.com/p_113KM...

Re: Manual Boost Control opinions wanted

Yeah, I concur. I think they were just pointing out to me that an MBC is a sub-optimal hack. ANd if can have problematic outcomes if not used judiciously. Just like becoming root in UNIX, with great power comes great responsibility. You very well can detonate your device. That was the only MBC story...

Re: Manual Boost Control opinions wanted

I had one of the flEaBay cheapo boost controllers on my old 244ti. I put it between the positive pressure line off the turbo housing and the wastegate actuator. I upgraded the in-dash boot/vacuum guage to a calibrated one. I ran the MBC at 12lbs max. More than that and I would detonate on 93 octane ...

2001 V70XC P2 IPD wheels & +2 sizing

Hi, Folks, After owning a 1984 244Ti and 1996 855R, I now have a meticulously cared for 2001 v70XC with 100,000 miles. The prior owners upgraded to his & hers Polestar XC70 and S60Rs. Naturally, the handling of the XC is far less sharp than either of my former sporty Volvos. I took advantage of ...

Re: Interchange wheels '96 855R <--> '99 V70XC?

OK, so I ate a little of my own dog food and found that they both use 5x108 pattern.

However, apparently the 850s used a 12x1.5b stud and the V70XC uses 14x1.5b.

Anyone able to confirm that this means that wheels are _not_ directly interchangeable?

I have a nearly duplicate topic here: https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/forums ... =1&t=36732

Does this mean that my 850R would swap with a V70XC?

Re: No start, no spark? I'm thinking ignition coil...

This sounds exceptionally similar to what happened to my 850R wagon the other day. We had it towed to the Volvo specialist that has done a lot of engine and electrical work for this car. Waiting to hear back on what they find. Hoping it is something small and easy, rather than wedged turbo, computer...

Interchange wheels '96 855R <--> '99 V70XC?

My 855R may have just crossed the Rubicon for me. I've put $2500 into it in the last 1.5 years, and if the turbo or ECM is really fried, I'm going to part ways with her. I found a nice V70XC near me for $4K. Would I be able to take my 850R wheels and pop them on the XC, and then sell off my 850R as ...
