Real quick- Finally got around to doing this about 500 miles ago. I wound up jumping the pins inside the ECU case, since I could never verify the wire colors on the harness.
Everything seems to be working. Thanks for your help, everybody.

I believe it reads from the coolant temperature sensor. Hope that helps.

Re: Looking for part name and/ or number
I need to replace this in my '98 as well.
From the outside looking in it appears that the VIN plate is just held in with some sort of pop rivet, is this correct?

Awesome, guys. Totally cool, I'll probably pick up some taps-with-goop from The Shack and do this some time this week. That would give me a little leeway.
Do either one of you know if the wiring is still A32 Green/Black and A37 Blue/Purple for a '98?

Re: 98 S70 GLT SAS Delete- Getting my ducks in a row
Wrong. It's A32 to A37. Are you ABSOLUTELY certain? There are definitely different pins to jump, depending on the year of the vehicle and if it's Motronic 4.3 or 4.4. The year and type of vehicle (850 or V70) is NOT specified anywhere in the thread you linked. I know, I read through it 5 or 6 times...

Re: Rough idle and then dies
Sure sounds like when the fuel pump died in my old 244 (both times!!!), except for the part about getting it to jump-start.

98 S70 GLT SAS Delete- Getting my ducks in a row
I'm getting ready to do the SAS delete on my 1998 S70 GLT, and I just need to make sure that I've got everything straight. There is some conflicting/unclear information floating around on the internets, and I'd hate to be a victim of my own ignorance. The procedure for my car should be to solder the...

It sure seems like it might if you could get it to grip. This is the actual tool referenced...cn90 wrote:I just wonder if one can use the typical "Bearing Separator" ($42 at Harbor Freight) to remove the endlink.

Re: Hey JRL, ever peel off dealer stickers?
I've had good luck with 3M General Purpose Adhesive Remover (08987). Comes in an aerosol can and I'm pretty sure most parts stores would carry it.
I think it's mostly toluene and benzene though, so regular old paint thinner might do just as well for less...

Re: Are these "GEFORCE" chips for real?
I like how they offer a 'chip' for the Triumph Spitfire mk4... a carbureted car from 1970. Nice.
