Bad CAT, O2 Sensors, or Vacuum Leak?
Codes: -PO420: Main catalyst system efficiency below threshold (Bank 1) -PO422: Catalyst system efficiency below threshold I don't want to throw money at a mechanic so I am trying to figure this out on my own (Thank you google)! There seems to be so many different options for my CEL at this point. I...

Aftermarket O2 Sensors? 2002 Volvo S80 T6
So I don't know much about cars, but I am learning! I noticed that my T6 has two O2 sensors in the front and two on the catalytic converter. My CEL light is on and I am getting a PO420 code (Catalyst system efficiency below threshold (bank 1)) and I want to fix it! Now my main question is.. do I nee...

Clean Catalytic Converter?
2002 Volvo S80 T6 CEL is on and I have a code PO422 and PO420 -Catalytic Converter problems I want to see if I can possibly clean it out somehow? Also, is it difficult to remove the cat converter and clean it that way? Maybe throw the whole thing into a bucket and let it soak and get cleaned? I just...

Re: Erase CEL! 2002 Volvo S80 T6
Haha I know it is supposed to tell me what is wrong.. It is a code PO422 and PO420. The mechanic said it is the catalytic converter. In my state we don't have to have a catalytic converter so I am not even going to bother fixing it. The car runs fine.. I just don't enjoy looking at that light. It is...

Erase CEL! 2002 Volvo S80 T6
I took my car to three different mechanics and they say my car is running perfectly.. but for some reason my check engine light is always on! I want to figure out a way to just get rid of it I don't care what I have to do. It is an eye soar for me.. Even if I have to go into the console and scrape t...

PO422/PO420... could it be an O2 sensor?
I have a 2002 Volvo S80 T6 and the CEL is on. I don't know what I have to do to fix it. I could get a new catalytic converter, but I am hoping something else is throwing the code. I keep hearing all of these different solutions and I am extremely confused. Does anyone have some experience with these...

O2 Sensors? I need help! PO422/PO420????
I have a 2002 Volvo S80 T6 and my check engine light is on. I had the codes checked by four different mechanics and they all said it was a PO422 and a PO420. Basically both are to do with the catalytic converter efficiency. I tried to do the spacer/nonfouler trick to get the CEL off but it didn't wo...

How to reset codes? ($45 at dealership????)
I have a 2002 Volvo S80 T6 and I have been doing some work on it. Now I want to see if my CEL goes away.. but I have to reset my codes! The dealer told me it is $45 to do this.... I thought resetting the codes was easy? Does anyone know how to reset the codes yourself?
Thank you!

Wow... nice "spacers". They are the exact same thing as a non fouler with a "honeycomb" top. Nice try...

Re: O2 Sensor Non-Fouler trick?
Do you have a 2002 S80 T6? I checked under the car and there are two sensors near the catalytic converter. There are also two in the engine area. Should I install a non-fouler onto both O2 sensors?
Thanks!
