My wife has a 2002 s60 with a bad alternator (getting a message claiming 'electrical system needs service'). I put a new regulator from IPD on the existing alternator and the same message appears. I have a 98 T5 950 with a blown engine. Will that alternator work as a replacement?

My local dealer wants $740 for a key with remote. That's remote $275, key shaft $127, programming, $270. I need to bring registration and license to start the week long process. This is insanity. It's an offense to customers.

Just an aside: my wife's 02 S60 has standard bulbs, and it far far brighter than my Xenons, both at distance and lighting up the medians. Volvo really botched the Xenon introduction.

What is the cheapest reliable way of getting a second key made?

I popped in a new mehle fuel filter in about ten minutes. Started right up, seems to drive well. I’ll report back if anything changes in the next few days.

But it looks like a $25 fix.

I did a OBD code check and it had no codes. Any ideas on how to check fuel delivery rate?

No joy. The starter is engaging and turning nice and fast with a battery that's only a few months old. I checked spark and we have that. I'm thinking fuel pump or filter has failed?
