Re: 98 v70 with thump sound from front right side (suspensio

So, this may be a dumb question but gonna ask anyways, if the spring seat in the engine bay is loose can you just tighten it up or does it need to be replaced?

Thanks!

Re: 1999 S70. . Air box hose question (w/PIC)

Unrelated to the vacuum leak, but just glad to see the ETM moved to a location that is easily accessible in mikealder's pics! On the 2000 S70 it is tucked up under the the manifold (I believe) and you are going totally by feel. Not cool given the failure rate of those units. Not to derail anything j...

Re: Hood replacement

While I haven't done it myself, the process is in the Chilton's manual (72302). It only lists like 6 steps: basically disconnect any wires and tube, unbolt the hood from the hinges, then remove the hinges. The book points out the bolts you need to deal with. It seems where the trouble comes in is in...

Re: 2000 S70 GLT ELM327 OBD-II Reader Tripped Alarm?

Ok, figured it out. The instructions received with the scanner said to leave the key out of the ignition when plugging into the OBD port. Apparently this is what trips the imobilizer. When I have the key in and turned to either position I or II, then all is well.

Re: 2000 S70 GLT ELM327 OBD-II Reader Tripped Alarm?

Thanks, Matty Moo! I had my door shut when fiddling with the OBD reader on and the immobilizer tripped. I read on other sites it is a theft deterrent as some cars can be started through the OBD port. However, there must be a bypass mechanism to support maintenance? I just need to figure out what it ...

2000 S70 GLT ELM327 OBD-II Reader Tripped Alarm?

Hey all! Today I connect an ELM327 OBD-II code reader up to the car for the first time. It uses wi-fi and connects to my iPhone using Dash Command. Everything connected and seemed ok. I tried to start the car with it connected. The car cranked but wouldn't catch. I removed the reader and it till wou...

Re: 850 TDI5 AWD wagon...

It is funny you mention this. I recently saw the BadSwede lift kit and had a similar thought: the 2.5" would be an absolute must if I ever get an XC70 wagon. The IPD project car is pretty bada$$ too. Have you seen that? If you do it, please post pics and video! :-)
