Re: 2001 S60 T5 Rough idle no codes.
So after lots of tinkering I finally come up with solutions of the car that fixed it. The engine is from a 2002 I swapped or so I thought I swapped everything. The aperture from a 2001 to a 2002, it clocked different so the car saw the cam timing as correct but the reality of it was it was off. Hope...

Re: 2002 volvo v70 clicking sound when I start the car
First test turn key on and move shifter from park to lowest possible place about 20 times see if car starts then back to park or if it will start from neutral. The transmission range sensor (netural safety switch) is known to create starting issues. Another possibility may be a failing starter the c...

Re: 2001 V70 T5 Long Term Fuel Trim Upper Limit.
Your fuel pressure is pretty close The regulator is in one of 2 places by the fuel filter under the car or most likely place is on the fuel pump assembly in the top of the housing. 380 kpa or 300 kpa depending on your fuel management system so 43 or 55 psi. That is a picture of a fuel rail pressure ...

Re: 2000 xc70 sat and now won't start
Do you have tach movement when spinning th engine over? Do you have access to a scan tool able to see engine rpm? Verify a few things Look through the oil cap and make sure the cam is spinning when the engine turns over. Is it getting fuel? After turning over the engine is the spark plug wet? Fuel p...

Re: 1997 850 wet under timing cover? Picture
On the water pump is a weep hole. I would bet the water pump is leaking look for the hole with an inspection mirror. If your not fully confident you can change the water pump and timing belt pay someone. If you mess the timing up you risk bending a valve and then you get in to big money with a cylin...

Re: Which year and engine config is "most reliable"?
XC90 is FWD or AWD not just rear. I have a 2006 XC90 2.5t FWD I tow cars with it and my wife drives it daily about 60 miles round trip to work . I have not driven a 3.2 but I have seen post saying the 2.5 feels a little peppier and I would say its only down fall to the 3.2 is replacing timing belts ...

2001 S60 T5 Rough idle no codes.
I see lots of post on ETM issues causing a world of issues at all different RPM ranges. I have an issue with my car only having a crazy idle. It runs like a car with a huge lopy cam 500-900 rpm. The car shakes in gear like your head bobbing to music its same in park. My concern with it is I have no ...

Re: 1998 V70 T5 with delayed Boost
The above are great things you need to try FIRST! If you still have issues with the car being sluggish I can think of 3 other things to check. 1 make sure you don't have a boost leak blown hose or something like that. I know it may look fine but pressure test it . Pop the hood have someone stand bes...

Re: How hard is it to pull a piston from 2.3?
The 2.3T from my understanding comes with forged Mahle brand pistons. I pulled my car down at 300k miles due to stuck oil control rings and to have the hear reworked the turbo cars are really hard on the exhaust valve guides. I drove my car like I stole it and it runs 14lb of boost. If the car has n...

Re: transmission interchangeability
Thank you for the help to Matty Moo, I'm interested in trying the 95 It needs to come out any way so I can get rid of the car before someone complains its an eye sore. You said the 95 could work Do you know if the final drive ratios being different would be a concern? I wont down my 96 the car till ...
