Re: 07 S40 starter
Hi, where can I buy that fantastic manual for a 2005 V50? I bought a manual online with details just like that a few years back for a VW Golf from factory-manuals.com. They do not have any for Volvo though. My Haynes V50 manual graphic is very hard to understand.

Re: Undoing a tailgate eyelet load retainer.
I just undid the other one. It's definitely easier bottom first.
This is the back of the eyelet, showing why trying to lever out the outer plastic bit is not going to work.

Re: Undoing a tailgate eyelet load retainer.
I did the bottom first, that could be the reason for the broken right hook. The top is probably more logical but it has to be levered downward first, not outward. There might not be enough yield in the plastic bit for it to move downward though, unless the bottom was removed by levering upward and o...

Re: Undoing a tailgate eyelet load retainer.
Success finally.
The plastic covering is actually two pieces, an inner piece that has to be levered off first, and an outer piece that can not be levered off. You just have to undo the bolt.

Re: Undoing a tailgate eyelet load retainer.
Yes, that's the bit I've been trying to take off. There has got to be a bolt underneath securing the metal eyelet to the frame. The plastic cover is in the way and I can't lever it off no matter how hard I tried. Perhaps it's time to get the dremmel out and cut the plastic cover into 2 halves.

Well Oragex, I've just tried your guess. The thing just does not rotate, neither left nor right.

Undoing a tailgate eyelet load retainer.
I've been trying to undo this eyelet in a V50 wagon boot without success. Does anybody know how? Levering the plastic cover off with reasonable force does not seem to work, any harder I'm afraid the thing will just break.
The same eyelet can be found in V70 as well.

Re: Arduino Volvo Display Thread
What is that adaptor for the Kenwood HUD in the picture above?
The car audio shops here in Australia insist there isn't double DIN adaptor for any Volvo.

Re: SHUNT mod for LED lights question?
Hi DarylRobert, I don't really know the answer to your question but I suspect the correct answer is no, a failed led will not draw a current.
Could you do a post on how you did it, the LED you use etc?
For me, the most significant plus is not having to keep replacing blown brake lights.

Re: Control arm - Is there a safe way to force it?
On a volvo V50, I've managed to get the lower control arm into the steering knuckle by using a ratcheting strap as follow: 1) Lift up the car on the side you want the work done using a jacking stand. 2) Wrap the ratcheting strap around the lower control arm and the jack stand somehow. 3) When the ra...
