Re: VML - 1997 Volvo 850 2.5L Sedan

I may have failing hub bearing - squeaks under load, squeals with left turn. Here are some updates since my last post in February 2019: August 2019: Recirc damper arm replacement - in progress https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=85485 July 2019: Gear shifter replaced https:/...

Re: P0422 - Is it a fake code Topic is solved

Few warm days and the CEL for P0422 disappeared. The CEL returned today when ambient temp dropped below 77ºF. Metal contracts when cold and expands at higher temperatures. Spray some Either around the intake manifold when the engine is below 77ºF see if the engine surges. Or you could do a smoke te...

Re: 2013A XC90 - 150,000 Miles To-Do List

Thank you for sharing Paul. The outer of the o'ring was shredded a little, so replaced it with Volvo's new green o'ring. Volvo ps fluid is holding level -- new reservoir. My crow foot set did not come with 16mm, but both, our V70XC and XC90 pressure hoses take SAE 5/8. Although the screw for the ten...

Re: 2013A XC90 - 150,000 Miles To-Do List

Hey, that’s a puppy diaper! Woof woof woof It once was. She is now a fully grown loving family dog. It may just be a placebo, but the engine feels quieter. The new tensioner, belt, pulley, water pump, coupler, and rebuild BOSCH/ZF ps pump are working together with no issuse. The coolant level is no...

Re: P0422 - Is it a fake code Topic is solved

Next year it might do the same. That same vacuum line system self destructed on my car a couple years back. You could try a smoke test for induction leaks Few warm days and the CEL for P0422 disappeared. The CEL returned today when ambient temp dropped below 77ºF. I can forecast CEL. I'll plug in V...

... Just missed the start of the FCP lifetime warranty with that one.
I don't think that has a start date. If you bought it there and have documentation, they will honor it.
Unless FCP says otherwise, the Lifetime Warranty is effective only after the "manufacturer's warranty" has expired.

I purchased ATI hose set few years ago and tried replacing, but gave up soon after deforming the two connectors like ^ -- not as bad.

Would reusing bleeder nipples and caliper pin from the original recommended?

Re: DIY: Flaring your Brake Lines

It was on my face during the rotor replacement job early summer. The cracks and tear on black rubber sleeve are deep enough that I can see the narrow white vein. Next window for any repair is end of October. Imagining brake caliper replacement with a rebuilt while I'm there -- it is original. I beli...
