Re: SPARK / ignition issues, changed plugs to NGK - worse. Was FoMoCo tri tip sparks before
Good to know... I'll be sticking with the Genuine Volvo plugs. Can't go wrong with the FCP Lifetime Replacement; despite the premium vs aftermarket. There is a torque rod contained inside of the silver bracket you mentioned. Could be worn out. It connects to the block and the shock tower. Check out ...

Re: Volvo XC90 - Why you love yours!
We've had a 2004 2.5T AWD that we picked up 9 years ago and love it so much that we bought a 2013 3.2L Platinum last August with 56K! I've done all of the repairs & maintenance... learned a lot from this site and others. Keep up with the rubber parts and inner tie rods and you'll never tell a di...

Re: XC-90 will not shift out of parrk
When this happened to my XC90, the solution was replacing the shifter claw. Hopefully it's your issue too, because it's a cheap fix. Check under the shifter trim... both the wood/aluminum and the silver shift indicator need to be removed, if i remember right. https://www.fcpeuro.com/public/assets/pr...

Re: New Volvo owner!
I hope this info finds everyone with an XC 2.5t, maybe even the 3.2. The most sugar coating I’ll do her is, I love my XC90 and I’d like to (need to) keep it going for another 12-18 mos. These white blocks are great, and it’s true that they still have the factory honing marks on the cylinder walls af...

Re: oil collecting in lower intercooler hose
I had a similar situation with oil in the intake hoses and throttle body. My loss appears to be associated with a bad CHRA and a leaky intercooler. Low pressure resulting in a small hole in the intercooler allowed the worn CHRA to push oil into the intake. If the intercooler did not suffer low press...

Re: PCV System Repair on a Volvo 5-cylinder
It's been some time since I have been on this thread, and I'm sorry if what I am about to mention has already been said. I did this job on my '04 XC90 a few years ago, then later replaced the cam seals to cure the oil leak in the timing belt housing - which I assume was due to high crankcase pressur...

Re: PCV Replacement
Lol! I remember how painful that was... I think it went through at least 2 full beers fiddling with that pipe. Luckily I never lost any of the gaskets. I hope the write-up helped and I hope your smoking dipstick problem has been solved!

Re: PCV Replacement
I don't know that there would be enough pressure to break the exhaust off of the turbo, without there being more serious pressure related problems first. In answer to your question about me experiencing any problems beyond a smoking dipstick, not really other than massive oil consumption. I'm happy ...

PCV Replacement
I just recently finished a PCV system replacement on my XC90 2.5T. Attached is a write up for the procedure. This has been submitted before on other models but I figured people might want one for the XC90.
Enjoy!
