Just use shoe polish!

I got an 06 FW 7 seater. Purchased with 86K miles, now it has 110+ miles and so far the most expensive part I had to replace was the OEM battery. No problems so far and runs great. I need to reset the after blow to get the stink out when a/c is on but other than that she is running smooth.

Use a flashlight and look at the R bottom side of the tensioner. You will see a torx fitting. Get the right size torx bit and pull towards the front of the car to take off tension. The hard part is when you try to put the dang thing back on. Have fun!

UPDATE: Well, so far the xc has been running without the Power service urgent light coming on. Weird!

The wires are secured. Plan on driving it to work tom. and see how it goes. I got my AAA card ready just in case..ha!

Voltage stayed at 13.6 while the engine was at 2000RPM. This is with the radio balsting, foglights on, headlights, heater on full blast with the interior lights on.

My wife said that the battery light came on and on the message center it said "Power service urgent". I started the car and no message was stored. I turned everything on to see if the message would come back but nothing. Checked voltage while the car was running with Heat, radio, all light...

Must be one of the rare T6 with no tranny problems...ha!
