Re: OBD I style LED Flash code Reader.

In the volvo_850_diag_links.html page's section that involves some flashing LED tool links look for the grey background note titled "Parts used to create jonesrh's flashing LED tool". That tool uses a 12V LED that has an in-built 680-ohm resistor. If your LED does *not* have an in-built resistor, yo...

Re: VIDA scanner

You said you wanted to reset the SERVICE light. You already have an OBDII bluetooth. For $2 it seems like you would be willing to install "850 OBD-II" app, then test if your existing OBDII bluetooth tool will work with "850 OBD-II" app to reset the SERVICE light. If it does, then you'll also be able...

Re: VIDA scanner

If you have an Android device, you can use xiaotec "850 OBD-II" Android app (available on Google Play) for ~$2 + ELM327-compatible Bluetooth tool . Some ELM327-compatible Bluetooth tools I've used successfully with "850 OBD-II" app: - ScanTool.net OBDLink LX BT [recommended] - ScanTool.net OBDLink M...

Re: What OBDII Scanner Should I Get?

I suggest you PM xanthefin and ask him for a recommended tool. Tell him you're from Germany, so he knows you are ordering from Europe.

Re: What OBDII Scanner Should I Get?

eightfifty2x0, To answer your question... I think most USA '96-97 850 owners probably use a scan tool >= 1 time per year. Since 2012, I needed to use a scan tool multiple times per year (while I owned my USA '96 850 T5 and/or '98 S70 GLT). If your car has the in-cabin OBDII port, and if you have an ...

Re: xiaotec "850 OBD-II" Android app on Google Play for '96-'98 850/S70/etc

1. I suspect the #1 most important enhancement request for "850 OBD-II" app is to port the app to iOS (then to maintain it there for at least 1-2 years) . All other requests should probably be subjugated to that request, with the exceptions of: - bug fixes, - adding (or correcting) more DTC interpr...

Re: Speed meter 15% too optimistic Topic is solved

I will take a look what i can do. :) Thanks. Here's my ideas pertaining to Esperado's suggestions to uniquely name 850log.txt by including date/time, and to lessen Scan time when working on a single module: https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=40&t=83145&p=544049#p544049 esl_97_...

xanthefin, Re: Esperado's "suggestion for the 850OBDII author" at end of https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=92261&p=543962#p543962 From my perspective as both a tester and a user... 1. Since I don't mind too much waiting on the "850 OBD-II" scan, I'd rather to just continue...
