s80 starter spins up, but pinion not engaging

Hi,

I have a 2000 s80 T6 with some startup issues:
After long pause the car usually starts, but if stopped and restarted it will typically not. I hear the click, the starter is spinning up, the pinion is inserted occasionally just to immediately retrieve (all this based on the sound).

I was ...

Re: S80 T6 y2000: Engine Fan Always On

I've just noticed that I've forgot to post the solution ... here it comes:
The control module is mounted on the fan, but it is a separate module. It is a small box with metal cover mounted at the middle of the fan. It can be swapped with a replacement, just some screws and 1-2 connectors (I don't ...

s80 T6, year 2000, heater core O-ring

Dear All,

I have to replace the two O-rings between the heater core of my s80 and the tubes, but the part (I think it is part no. 8693268) was not at stock at my Volvo dealer. Can someone give me the exact dimensions, so that I could buy some generic O-rings?

Thanks,

S80 T6 y2000: ECM plastic cover ventillated?

Hi,
I've seen on many pictures that the plastic cover of the ECM/TCM is connected with a tube to the fan (or somewhere above). On my car there is no such tube.

The cover has the stub to connect the tube, but it is sealed by plastic. Is yours the same, or you have that tube?

I'm referring to the ...

Re: S80 T6 y2000: Engine Fan Always On

Answering to myself since I've found the recall info ... and not one but 3 of them.

1, a TSB from 2002: Recall No. 110 Engine cooling fan, replacement (for some '99 s80)

2, a TNN from 2005: Recall Campaign 141: Inspect/Replace Engine Cooling Fan Control
Module (EFCM) and Cooling Fan Assembly (for ...

Re: S80 T6 y2000: Engine Fan Always On

Thanks for the reply! I was checking what that module is, and it the so called FCM (fan control module), manufacured by BOSCH. Mine has the part no. 1 137 328 081 and a quick search gave no results for buying such a thing :(

Then I was searching a bit more and I found the 2004 FCM recall info (http ...

S80 T6 y2000: Engine Fan Always On

Hi,

I just had a new problem this morning with my 2000 s80 T6: my engine fan remained on forever after I've turned off the car. This is not the usual let's cool down the motor a bit thing. It was blowing for an hour, in winter, while the motor was already cold. After some hours, if I connect back ...

Re: Turbo sucking oil.....

Can you write some more about how the PCV can be routed backwards? I had the oil trap changed and the PCV cleaned some months ago (obviously the volvo dealer never ever cleaned it, it was totally clogged and the plastic pipe broke to hundreds of pieces), and I want to make sure it is installed ...

Re: 2001 S80 T6 Siren Module Replacement/Repair - How To

Nice howto! Wish I have seen it before going through the same :)

My siren was still working, but it had very, very low sound before I started to look for a solution.

I was removing it similar to the description, with the difference that I didn't remove the bracket. You can simply use a wrench to ...

I'm in Europe, in Hungary. The car is a T6. Here we have castrol oils at a friendly price, and I've managed to find some TXT Softec for this oil change .... but I'm already gathering info for the next one

For the brake fluid, this will be my first change and I had no idea what to take. At ...
