2001 V70 T5 wagon automatic needs transmission, free to good home near Palo Alto CA
My 2001 V70 T5 Wagon has reached the end of the life of its second transmission, and I'm not going to put in a third one. It has about 220K miles, and it runs OK, not like new, but it passes smog. Everything about the car is pretty tired: the drivers seat has a couple of loose seams, both the front ...

Re: New valve body, trans still unhappy
Oh interesting. I'll double check the temperature. Valve body looked good, rebuild from valve body pros in Santa Clara.

Hey, just wanted to add my voice to the chorus of positive feedback for Andrew: his setup worked perfectly for my P2 V70: it's literally like three clicks, and you're in VIDA. Highly recommended.

New valve body, trans still unhappy
Hi everybody, I replaced my AW55-50 valve body, after an episode wherein I lost all gears, but it seems not to have helped. All is good when cold, but when hot (fluid temp around 100 C), it has a hard time engaging any gears, and if i keep driving it, i'll end up in "limp" mode ("tran...

Valve Body Pros
It's time to replace my automatic transmission valve body. Any opinions of Valve Body Pros as a supplier?

Re: Cracked Lower Control Arm
thanks guys. it was indeed the OE arm from 2001, and i pressed the old bushing out. it took quite a bit of force to do that, at least four tons, but the press was rigged clean and square, so i don't think the extraction hurt anything. next time i'll polish the shell -- i didn't think it was too roug...

Cracked Lower Control Arm
Hi everybody, Today I went to install some new bushings, Powerflex PFF88-601, link below [1], but in the last mm of insertion, the control arm shell broke with a thunk. See picture [2]. Is this something that just happens sometimes? Or am I doing it wrong? I used a lot of grease, and not too much pr...

Re: 2001 v70 spring seat solved!
the ride is totally fine, no change in smoothness.
also, it's not just a pillow ball, there's also a spring seat and a roller bearing in there, so the ball only takes the damping load, not the spring load.
