Re: won't start no spark

Very happy my toy is running again, depressed at the $400 in parts it cost me to do it...lol Still I think I did the right diagnostics in the right order just looking for a spark can be a pain sometimes. I'm sure we've al...

Re: Ignition tumbler experience
I had the exact same thing on my 98 V70R. you can buy the replacement lock assy and the keys will work on your doors because they match the lock to your VIN. The work of changing it however is a little more complex, if you don't mind spending the time with a cold chisel and a hammer it shouldnt be a...

1998 S70 T5
Well, It may be one of those good (or bad) luck things. I got a call from my wife whilst I was out of town. The S70 had just died on her way shopping, had to get a tow home and did I know how much they charge these days..I do now :( Anyway ran her through how to use the diagnostic tool to get the fa...

Wow, thanks for all that work researching. I think that I'm going to have to go to the dealer on this one, only because I need the car and time is limited, think it's going to cost me a few $ tho  I'd already replaced the electrical side of the switch during my fault finding, but it's becoming ...

Thanks, was thinking of replacing that part too, was next on my list after the key :? lol Does the new barrel/tumbler come with a key? or, how does the tumbler recognise the old key? I'd always thought this was one of those Dealer only parts. Not having taken it apart yet, I'm assuming maybe that th...

The 2 marks on the crank gear threw me off for a bit too. But Yes, the valley is what is lined up with the timing mark on the engine. Definitely yes to the water pump change, put it this way, want to do this all over again for a $50 pump?...lol I just done the timing belt AND serpentine belts on my ...

Are 98 V70 Ign Keys "Chipped" ?
OK, heres my prob, I have a 98 V70R AWD. Occasionally the Ignition key will just spin instead of starting the engine. feels like an anti theft thing? So I got to wondering do these keys have any kind of chip or sensor in them. They look like just a regular type key with no obvious way to split them ...
