Re: 2001 V70 XC
This was my situation when I brought my 01 home. As SuperHerman said, you are looking at dropping oil pan and replacing those o-rings in there. On the bright side, this will let you get a good look at any sludge, etc. if any and can clean it up. Get the correct anaerobic sealant to put it back toget...

Re: The NEW (2018) BLOOPERS AND BLUNDERS THREAD
Installing a rebuilt 351 Windsor into my son-in-law's 1994 Ford F-150 (replaced the blown 302 motor) and would crank but no-start. Went round and round banging my head trying to figure out what I'd missed (I've rebuilt a couple Ford motors before) even pulled out distributor a couple times to check ...

Re: 2002 V70 2.4t valve body
Thank you for the Transtec # that picture looks way more accurate. Vtl, when you say "don't use pan gasket, use sealant" are you meaning just a Permatex adhesive to hold gasket in place or the RTV? Most posts advise against the RTV as it gets smeared putting cover back on thus the suggesti...

Re: 2002 V70 2.4t valve body
So has anybody confirmed what YEAR Maxima would have the pan gasket for this repair? For the life of me I can't find one listed that looks like the correct shape for our transmissions! Would love to have all the parts on hand for doing the TransGo kit in my X/C before my kit arrives in a week or so....

Which trans cooler line to put external filter in
I've decided to try the TransGo valve body and solenoid rebuild on my 2001 X/C 70 based on the amazing thread detailing this from others here. I did do the "down-under" work-around by puncturing the internal filter screen after getting the pump "whine" due to low flow and had gre...

What size heatsinks do I need for CEM?
Finally happened to me on hot/humid day on drive to work: Limp mode which went away after car cooled off for drive home. Pretty sure it's the 2001-2204 CEM overheat issue and want to do the chip heatsink and shield removal. I think the size for the big chip is 22mm as mentioned in posts, but what is...

Re: Door Lock Cylinder Not Responding
Found a Dorman #75450 part number at Advance it’s an assorted pack but should have one that would work in it.
Search for “door lock rod clips” on other sites.

Re: AW55-50SN woes-easy to repair?
As far as spraying the crud off the filter, you won’t need that long of a hose from the can. From the new hole the filter might only be a couple inches away from the hole but trying to spray it off might not be that effective due to the angle involved but it’s worth a try to see if the whining goes ...

Re: Door Lock Cylinder Not Responding
Most auto parts stores will know what you are looking for if you tell them. There are different types and the originals are just “grommet” style but the ones that have both the grommet for the cylinder end and a “wrap-around” arm that clips to the rod itself could probably work as well.

Re: Door Lock Cylinder Not Responding
My 2001 X/C70 was doing the same thing. Opened up the door panel and found the rod connecting the cylinder to the module was disconnected. You can find the clips in a parts store to retain the rod and pay attention to where the threaded rod is installed in the lower clips as you can reinstall it at ...
