Re: 97 850 T5 - Stalls above 2000 rpms; hard starting.

bmw-speak. DME = Digital Motor Electronics aka Bosch Motronic. sorry for any confusion!

yep, it's probably the cam position sensor (having slept on it some more) making the startng difficult when hot.

Re: 97 850 T5 - Stalls above 2000 rpms; hard starting.

more difficult to start when warm? could the CTS be having something to do with this? edit: sorry, must better explain my thinking - when it's warm, where's your temp gauge? if the cts is mis-representing temp to the DME (eg reporting cool) it could be running too rich & contribute to your diffi...

Re: Volvo 850 Suspension Options For NYC Roads

forget KYB, I ran them on an A2 GTi and they were trashed in 18 mths, the Boge replacements were a revelation with better ride, less jarring, more control, firm without the harsh. I also ran them in an A32 Maxima - just not sophisticated. they are relatively cheap, though - false economy. I'm runnin...

when I had these symptoms, it was the MAF. I hadn't yet replaced the leads and plugs, though. :)
HTH

I have since replaced CTS, Cam Position Sensor, and other stuff as general maintenance.

Re: 195 850 t5r radiator problem

I sourced my Nissens item from FCP Euro. My trans has not been junked.

I've used prestone cooling system flush, but never to remove oil. Is it engine oil you're looking to clean out of your cooling system?

Re: Powerstop brakes

I've been searching, and found very little about these rotors on our Volvo application. How did they work out for you? Would you buy them again? http://www.powerstop.com/product/power-stop-evolution-drilled-slotted-rotors/#y=1998&mk=VOLVO&mo=V70&ss=2WD%3B%20280mm%20Front%20Discs I bit th...

Re: 195 850 t5r radiator problem

I replaced mine last year with the Nissens 8601356 (1997 855-T5, auto), it was thinner than the original. No issues with cooling whatsoever. You will need some longer screws though - I found I needed to replace a couple of the screws as the tabs were further away from the bodywork (at the top of the...

850 - interior door panel removal (in pictures)

Hi all. I needed to replace a door check-strap recently, and couldn't find an on-line guide to removing the interior door panel, to provide access. This precipitated consulting that old-fashioned repository of knowledge, 'the book'. I had to find it first! Anyway, I built some 'how-to pictures' for ...

MIJ - thanks for the link, that's brilliant! I'll follow that exactly. A tap and die set is one of the few tools I lack - now I have a reason to procure one!

This should be converted into a Bay 13 procedure, I reckon. (the slater latch fix, that is)

best regards
