Re: 2001 XC70 Power steering pump o-ring

Thanks vti. I realized it was a weekday (i'm off work this week) so e down to Gengras Volvo and got the OEM ring. I measure the id to 0.307 a 302 pin is loose and a 5/16 pin is just a tad over. The width is 0.072 so the size they gave me is a -011. (5/16 ID by 7/16 OD 1/16 Wide) That size is include...

Re: Jan 1 2014 calling all cheapskate mechanics Harbor Frt

My tools are mainly Craftsman but after finding my socket sets out in the rain a few times I purchased the 301 piece mechanics set for my son. It is one of the best investments I done in tools. The wrenches and pliers are quite bad but the sockets are great. What I love with it is that it is complet...

Did you drain the old fuel? 2 year old fuel can even make a Briggs and Stratton run like crap. Pour a can of seafoam with a few gallon of fresh fluid after you drain the old fuel.

I would think you could use the fuel pump to pump out the old fuel with some luck.

AlanS,

I think it is from 96 and on so your 850 might be an issue. The others should be fine.

2001 XC70 Power steering pump o-ring, size, 969092

Hi, My XC70 pumped the power steering fluid overboard due to the o-ring failing on the pressure connection. I found Pentosine CHF-202 at my local NAPA but when I got home I found that Vida recommend 1161529 but that cross to CHF 11S. The Pentosine data sheet also list the 202 from 2002 and on but 11...

Re: V70XC AWD 2001 Wiring harness melted

It sounds strange. I wonder if that car had some serious overheat issues. The corrugated loom material is crap on these cars but I would assume your wires pretty much came from the same spool as anyone elses. If one wire go bad there might be an issue with the batch but having all wires go brittle i...

Re: 2001 xc70 want to get a vida/dice

When you install Vida you have to run an executable to crack the password lock. There is really nothing you can do to protect that .exe files from doing pretty much anything the programmer intended besides unlocking Vida. Personally I bought a Dell 620 for $80 on craigslist with 4GB of RAM that work...

Re: *Update/Awaiting help* Need help with complete oil loss/

Talk about reinventing... I went to Volvo, the guy asked if I had variable valve timing on is so I said yes (there is VVT on the exhaust side) and like Joe, I got the wrong seal.. Luckily for me I noted it before I installed it and thanks to the great guys at Gengras Volvo here in East Hartford, CT ...

Re: *Update/Awaiting help* Need help with complete oil loss/

Have the same problem, I was driving down with the 2001 XC70 to meet my VCOA Friends at IKEA for the Christmas buffet here in CT but start seeing the oil lamp blip half way there. I quickly pulled off to the side just as the NO OIL PRESSURE warning went on. Towed it home (AAA) and I was 100% sure it...
